wondrous Tales not giving some rewards issue

I have been having the following issue since possibly the last major update in October (maybe even longer). I have reported the issue in-game but have not seen the issue go away. I looked around if there has been other people having same issue but nothing so far.
here is what happens:
you turn in your journal to Khloe and you get a set of guaranteed rewards (Left side) and a set of optional rewards (which you have to choose between two items) on the right. For the longest time I have been able to get the optional rewards without issue, however, the guaranteed rewards do not drop. at one point I had the opposite happen.
this is fine if the guaranteed reward is maps or tomes but it really hurts when it is a good item (cracked crystals ex) and i miss out.
I would like to know if anybody else had noticed this or (hopefully) support can do something to fix it. getting really annoying

There is no guaranteed drop from wonderous tales...
You have always the choice between the first 2 collumns for level 60 and with 70 you get an additional choice (3rd collumn).
The only thing which is guaranteed is that you can choose from the first line for getting 9 stickers, that is the only guaranteed thing.

Just as the above poster stated, the drops for this particular quest are not guaranteed, you get a choice once completed. It sounds like you are selecting one of the options and not getting the other item because you only get the one choice.

well that is not how it worked before and I have consulted with other players and they agree something is wrong.

example:

lets say you you get 9 seals. you get 3 columns of rewards

500 poetics Allagan Piece Map

the tomes drop not matter what (guaranteed). the allagan piece and the map you only get one and you have to choose one. I am not getting the tomes or anything under that column if I happen to have lines completed. that is my issue. it was never like that before and I have confirmed with other players that the first column (tomes in this example) always drop.

by the way I have screenshots of the issue from a couple of the times I tried to turn in the journals. however they are from ps4 so not sure how to post them here.

I don’t ever recall seeing any guaranteed rewards from WT (granted, I had a bad habit of letting my journals expire). I always remember having to pick the rewards, but I think in HW there were only 2 options per category, where as SB gives you three options per category (9 seals, 1 line, 2 lines, and 3 lines).

As for posting images from a PS4, you’ll probably have to save them to an external device (like a USB), transfer them to a PC, upload them to an image-hosting site (Imgur is a good one), and then post them here using the [ img ] [ /img ] tags.

EDIT: This is from the 3.4 Patch Notes: Looks like you’ve always had to pick one reward or the other; there are no guaranteed rewards other than if you get 9 stickers, you at least get to pick one reward (still have to choose between the 2 or 3 options though).

OR
1 Allagan Gold Piece

I have never seen it behave like you describe. There are no guaranteed rewards from Wondrous Tails, and have never been. For each of the four categories (9 seals, 1 Line, 2 Lines, 3 Lines) completed you get to choose one award from a set of two items. (Might be three items to choose between at level 70 - haven't got there yet.)

yeah after 60 you get an additional column. so you get three rewards instead of two like in your picture. the one on the right you always get the other two you have to choose between them.

i will try to upload screenshots maybe that will clear the confusion. thank you for the tips.

According to the 4.0 Patch Notes, though, the only change made to it was an additional option upon hitting 70. There is no mention of a guaranteed reward.

Upon reaching level 70, an additional column of optional rewards will be added.
Upon reaching level 70, the objectives available in the Wondrous Tails will change.
* The aforementioned changes will not affect a Wondrous Tails in your possession prior to attaining level 70.

Here’s an image from SB Week 1 of a level 70 WT book—still says “Select One” above each section; no mention of anything guaranteed.


By all means, though, please do upload screenshots. Because, if you’re experiencing something different, it’s a bug, not how the feature is intended to work.

These are the Lines you can go.
When you are selecting the finished duty's for lines if you go above 7 you cannot use 2 points to change the lines it has to be 6 then you can use the points to switch lines up.

If you complete the 9 seals you should get the top line without having any lines at all.

9 seals free line when finishing the book.

1 line you have to line it up like the chart says.
