    Status Resistance Materia

Has anybody tested what exactly these do? I'm wondering if they actually stop the status from landing more often or if they simply lower the amount of time a status will stick on you, like the barspells in FF11.

If no one has, can anyone make a suggestion on L40-L50ish enemies that consistently do a particular status? I'd like to play around since for future content status resistance might potentially be useful.

Of course if a dev would like to chime in and let everyone know beforehand, that would be swell too

I don't think most regular mobs use special status move.
Status resistance thing should be the chance you will resist it.
all I can think of is that walking flower thing will use Heavy (but I don't always get Heavy effect) and sheep use sleep, however I never have a single time resist sleep even vs L10 sheep as L50. Ivy type of mob use bad breath (which you can see some people don't get all bad alignment status).

I think these are for people want to build gears specially for end-game events, such as vs moogle's petri-skill. but player's playing skill can cover that part in general, too...so, I don't think it's a direction dev will specifically make mobs do these in order to promote these function. Maybe in 1.21, but currently there is no skill to remove these. people will rabble rabble rabble too much about it. But certainly, they can add these to increase game difficulty and promote WHM usage.

Rancid Breath can also slow and blind; sleep's just the most annoying one. Couerl Eye Materia provides blind resistance, Cactuar Foot Materia provides slow resistance, Funguar Shriek Materia provides sleep resistance.

With the way the attributes system "works" now, I almost don't see a point in having some certain materia at all. Since most of the mobs we fight don't last long enough to cast some of these debuffs, there's no point.

It would be useful just to figure out how it works for future reference. With Esuna coming, status effects made by enemies will probably be more meaningful.

Anyways, I got some Slow resistance materia and I will probably buy Stun resistance. I know I've resisted the Hippocerf stun before so I'll check it out and see if the materia does anything. If it does anything noticeable it might be a nice thing to look into as a healer.
