The amount of playable content being added per patch has shrunk over time.

He wouldn't have a job any longer, or simply be shifted to another aspect of the game. It's not uncommon to have developers shifted around between projects.

And this has little to do with the cash shop. A couple mounts, outfits and an emote wouldn't have made Eureka release any faster. Content has felt barren this patch cycle because they focused more on incredibly niche audiences aka Ultimate, Rival Wings and Perform.

Seen a few of these around now, ridden by various races.
They look good for lalas, but seem a bit squashed for the larger races.
Maybe a bit more scaling up needed?

This exactly, I like the mount but it's so squashed on my non-lalas.

If anyone is interested I can post images of a male of every race but Roe on the Citrine Carbuncle.

I bought it because they use mogstation things to do things like the did with giving us new servers and things like that but yes these things should just be in quests in the game..

Except (and please correct me if I'm wrong, folks) a sizable chunk of profit SE makes from this game doesn't even go back into FFXIV; they reallocate it to other games and such.

Another mount I won't buy. I'm not even surprised that most of the "nice" and fun things go to the mog shop any more. The bear was a nice surprise yet now I can't help but feel that they hoped we wouldn't feel short-changed with these latest additions to the cash shop because of that cute little bear in a Santa hat.

As much as I want certain things- emotes and dances, mostly- I can't justify paying for them when I already pay a monthly sub. I can certainly afford the things I want. But I feels like such a scam every time I see something that could be earned in-game go to the shop with no other option than to buy it. Sorry SE, I know you want to bleed me dry if I'll let you, but I don't even pay for microtransactions on crappy phone games- I know a raw deal when I see one.

Not everything sold in a store needs to be bought by a customer, even if they happen to desire those things. If we're honest with ourselves how many of us have purchased a mount from the Mog Station or worked hard in-game to acquire one only to use it a few times and then never touch it again?

I'm good with Carbuncle. Ima pass on the outfit and the emote and all that but I did buy the topaz mount, which is not bad given that it's account wide.

As far as selling things that used to be in game, there's nothing wrong with it, BUT, it would help immensely if they continued to make more new outfits, mounts, and so on. Starlight bear and werewolf outfit aside, there have been many, many less holiday outfits, holiday emotes, (and burn me down for this one if you like, but...) swimsuits and the like, in the last year or so. There's nothing wrong with selling the old ones, if anything that beats not being able to get them at all, but people feel super ripped off because all they CAN do is buy old ones for cash, rather than expecting to find fresh new versions each holiday like we were able to do a couple years ago. Again, I know they haven't stopped entirely, but no one likes to feel pressured to pay real money for old things just because they're late to the party. They have to know how much more glamour means to most people than just a few house decorations. After all, everyone can glamour, not everyone has a house. Or even an apartment, if you're on Balmung and the like. So hey, maybe toss a glamour suit into every holiday again like it was. People will still buy old ones, but new players will also feel as cared about as veterans ever were, and veterans can keep expanding that collection. ^_^
