You should be able to jump into savage without doing normal first. Saying that "savage raiders" will decrease the queue for normal players, yeah maybe like for a few hours or the first week but a lot of people do normal one time then never again so that has no lasting effect. I have several friends on my server that do the (savage) raids blind and it takes them forever but they enjoy it. I know they would love to not ruin the story either and have more excitement from their savage clears.

Personally I do normal mode because hey free gear, just wish that your contribution meant something to your roll % LOL.

So it would be mandatory for all savage raiders to complete it day 1, and those that don't you will allow to go in without watching a guide even if its weeks or maybe even months later?

Or they could just give hardcore players the option to skip the normal difficulty.

When non-hardcore players complained about the coil story being out of their reach, they ended up getting their normal mode to see the story. With that in mind, a hardcore player is asking for an option to skip that difficulty, something that doesn't affect a non-hardcore player's ability to run it.

It's a bit silly to reply with something akin to "Just deal with it, have a group carry your corpse", because the same reply could've been made about coil "Just deal with it, YouTube it/get carried".

I think having to beat a lower difficulty to be ready for the higher difficulty makes sense and is just good design. No option to skip normal please, and keep releasing savage at least a week or two after the normal modes.

I'm pretty indifferent, but I really don't see a problem with it.

I probably wouldn't be one of the hardcore players who would skip normal to go straight for savage, but I understand full well that beating normal in no way proves that one is competent for savage mode.

Besides, friends don't let friends PuG Savage mode.

I cannot agree with this, if none are wanting to even make an effort to try normal content. It should remain how it is currently, clear normal version, unlock Savage version and so on.
There is already other content that everyone has access to like the 24 man's as example

How does it affect your gameplay if someone wants to jump right to the higher difficulty? Players should be given the option to do so, just like players were given the option to experience the story on an easier difficulty.

Not going to happen, outside of expansion releases. The raid releases in the x.2 and x.4 patches have always added both the normal and savage modes at the same time.

It has nothing to do with effort, and everything to do with hardcore players wanting to progress through a fight while it's new and exciting. Similar to how one progressed through Coil.
Not having these savage raiders queuing up for normal mode in the first week, won't have a significant effect on the non-hardcore players that clear it on normal for the story/normal mode loot.

We received a few requests to delay the implementation of the Savage mode; however, we chose to release them at the same time. Even if you haven't completed the main scenario, you’ll only need to have completed the normal version of Omega: Deltascape to later challenge Sigmascape (Savage). Deltascape (Savage) completion is not a requirement.

If we were to release the Savage mode two weeks later, everyone’s item level will be increased during that time. Balancing was done based on release at Patch 4.2 timing, so we would have to re-adjust the overall balancing if we pushed back the release timing on the Savage mode. Also, doing this will make it more difficult to retain the value of the new crafted battle gear with higher item level unless we make it stronger.

For those looking to defeat it quickly. we would like players to use the new crafted battle gear. We believe the difficulty of the Savage mode is harder than Alte Roite from Deltascape. For those that consider the Savage mode as their main end game content, we believe that they feel it’s good to have the Savage mode released with the patch. We would like to continue to hear players feedback regarding this.

I think it is good that they get released the same time, too.
I still would like an option to only play a (story)- savage mode, without having to play normal story mode.

As he mentioned that the dev team seems to be still thinking about it...and wants feedback, bumping this thread.

I fail to see why this is even a thing.

So you lose 15-30 mins tops to clearing normal to get access to higher content...just...once.

Seriously...this is really childish to even discuss over. Just beat the damn normal mode and get on with your life. Bloody hell.
