I taught we were past the "game crashes a lot" phase.
I like them, sometimes I watch them, sometimes I don't. We have the option to skip them, so it's not really necessary to completely remove them.

For me, it's just a matter of time. If I have time to watch them, I do, because I try to see if there is something interesting I missed or I just enjoy watching it again. If I don't have time I skip it. I think it's a bad idea to take them out and sort of a slap in the face to the developers to ask them to take out stuff like this constantly in these threads.

As other people said, the Cutscenes can be skipped, it takes literally a second to do so and some people enjoy a few of them.
If your problem is that they crash your client, then perhaps you should suggest that SE improves the overall stability of the game? (something they have been doing since alpha, by the way.)
Another valid suggestion could be having some sort of auto-cs-skip option.
But removing them because some people don't want a one second delay caused by skipping them? Hell No.

There is a little Monkey in all of us....

The Chocobo one was actually added by popular demand. True Story.

I would think in the configuration they could have a "do not repeat cutscenes" option, like they do in the regular numbered FFs.
I'm not a fanboy. I'm a fan favorite...
Actually, it's mostly to mask other players using the elevator- so that nobody else has to wait for the elevator to go up/down before they can use it. Technically the polys for the upper/lower level need to start being drawn but this only takes an instant. If you go to the airship landing, the loading doesn't take place until after the elevator animation finishes. As for the Elevator, Airship, and the like cut scenes, those are often used to mask parts of loading screens
A cutscene skip is more than sufficient. However, if it crashes you, then that's something that needs to be fixed and should be posted in a bug report. Now as for people calling me a moron for asking that the CS's be removed and yet liking the idea of a toggle switch please note I suggested the toggle switch...

The CS crashes happen to everyone if you haven't had one happen to you then your one of the very few. I believe it is a problem with how the game is coded and will probly be fixed in 2.0 but until then we need some kind of temp fix.Actually, it's mostly to mask other players using the elevator- so that nobody else has to wait for the elevator to go up/down before they can use it. It if was as common as you claim it to be, people would have made threads complaining about it months ago.
