First Every Sig

i just made this sig today after i picked up a copy of adobe photoshop, just was looking some reviews or ideas on how to improve my skills and what you ffxiv players think of my sig.

You made that after picking up PS for the first time? In that regards it is very nice, but yeah it is a bit to big... Usually sigs for forums are roughly about 400x200 or 500x300... sometimes the forums have restrictions on how big sig's can be.

If you are going to do say a 400x200: I would make the image 800x400 (double sized) then make your sig at that size. When you are done with your sig you can then reduce the size down to proper format (say 400x200) and this will keep your image nice and sharp.

If you make it at 400x200 and have an image that's too small, so you try and up size it to make it fit, this can distort the image and sometimes take away the sharpness making it look unclear.


Also remember your text! If you want it to be readable make sure to look at it and see that you can read everything that is happening within it. Maybe ask others to read it and see if it's hard for them? Seeing you know what it says, sometimes we are a bad judge of if it is in fact readable or not heehee. Sometimes because of the shade of color vs the background your text can kinda fade into whats behind it. But I will say, you did a great job compared to some first timers work I have seen!

Sorry I teach Game Design and PS is part of it. Keep going at it and practicing, you're gonna end up super good at it from seeing that! Just some basic help!

Just keep messing around with Photoshop! You can make some neat stuff once you get the hang of the tools.
