How do you fix these 90002 disconnects???

I've been playing for almost 2 weeks now but since yesterday I'm getting disconnected left and right. Other mmos(WoW, EverQuest) play fine as well as other online games. No changes have been made to my PC in the recent days, so I doubt it is on my end.

Freemium mmos have better connections than this "premium" monthly fee game, FIX IT

Good afternoon, and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Can you elaborate on the kind of disconnect you are having?

    Please provide:

    - Platform (PC, PS4, Mac)
    - Any error codes or messages you receive upon disconnect (if any)
    - Type of connection (wired or wireless)
    - Other programs running while the game is playing (if any)
    - Frequency at which disconnect occurs
    - Where you are booted to after disconnect (Desktop, Start Screen, Character Select)
    - Everything you have tried to resolve the issue

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

I did everything you posted in this thread
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-in-90002-2002
and it didn't help. I get no disconnects in the early mornings(1am-9am, I'm on east coast EST) which is the time I played this prior to two days ago, but in the afternoons that I've started playing since 2 days ago it's every 5 minutes disconnect unless I'm just standing still and not fighting or talking with npcs. All other games (WoW, EQ etc) have no problems whatsoever. What's the IP of the FF14 server I ping so I can check the route via WinMTR? I'm gonna talk with my isp but considering all other games work fine..

I'm on PC win10(tried win7 compatibility), 90002 kicks me to start screen, no other major programs running(ie only tab is FF14).

Great now I'm even being disconnected at night. Tell those clueless fools at SE that USA is not the size of Japan, and have different server locations across the country. What kind of amateur monthly fee service game are you running, 4 years after release? I bet all the people with 90002 are east coast too.

I live in Washington state and get them every 60 minutes or less. They been going on for me since 4.0 came out. Before it never had one problem with 90002 Errors. When do trace route show no time outs and highest ping on trace route is 35. I'm pretty sure cause is bug in stormblood data. It's kind of weird right when it comes out started getting them and not after they moved the data center to new location.

Hello Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that should resolve your connection issues. Please take all the steps.

The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on Internet Explorer. Other times it occurs when an application that is running in the background is causing interference, such as Anti-virus software, firewalls, media players, web browsers, etc.

Please make sure all background applications (including anti-virus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference.

Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed on your PC (even if you don't use Internet Explorer), please do not use Edge as that is a different internet platform. Once Internet Explorer is up-to-date, please open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED.
    [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    Please RESTART your PC now.

Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error.
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

*You may learn how to do this by visiting http://www.portforward.com/
Find your specific router's brand and model number from the 'List of Routers' and you will be provided a step-by-step guide on how to access these port settings.
Otherwise, your ISP may forward these ports for you.*

If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your computer directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the computer for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.

If you continue to receive these same errors when you are connected directly to the modem, then the problem lies with your ISP. We would recommend contacting them and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access on these ports.

Please let us know if this works.

Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV!

@Mod: This is not an issue on our end. This is an issue with SE's servers. We are getting kicked because your character servers are so insecure that bots have been spoofing characters/accounts and travelling from Aether to Aether. They're causing instability.

PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I am from the Philippines, and the error/fix you speak of does in no way help me. I am technically inclined and savvy with these things and I still followed your advice despite knowing it won't do anything out of desperation that it'll fix the issue.

It says a lot about a game that's in no way a "prodigy" in features and plays exactly like WoW but much more expensive to play. I believe I/We have every right to complain like this as we aren't playing the game for free. We pay monthly for the stability of the servers.

    Thank you.

Well for what is worth, I had absolutely zero disconnects on Monday and Tuesday and only one today, about ~5 hours played daily, what a glorious game!
