    DirectX 1000003d

Whenever I try to run the game at DirectX 9.0c, it throws a DirectX 1000003d fatal error and crashes the launcher out. I can run the game in DirectX 11, but I'm playing on a fairly poor laptop and my performance suffers badly in DirectX 11.

I'm fairly sure I have DirectX 9.0c installed, but have no idea how to deal with this error. I'm on a laptop using an onboard Intel GPU.

Hello Patware, Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

What have you done to solve the issue up until this point? Are your graphics card drivers up to date? Additionally, have you tried lowering the resolution or graphics settings (even if your GPU can obviously handle it)
If none of this seems to have any affect, try to disable any programs in the background while you are playing the game (again, even if your computer should be able to handle it).

If any of these solves your issue, please let us know so we can further assist others with the

Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV!

I'm running at 1280 x 720 with all my in-game graphics settings pushed as low as I can get them. Updating drivers and doing a fresh uninstall/reinstall of the game were my first steps. The problem occurs even after a fresh reboot with all unnecessary programs shut down.

    Thank you for your reply!

Do you have any overlays (i.e. GeForce experience) if so try disabling this.

I do not. My GPU is an onboard Intel that doesn't really do anything exotic.

Thank you for the reply Patware,

It should be noted that integrated Intel graphics does not meet the minimum requirements. While you may be able to get it playing, this doesn't mean it will always work properly. This may be the reason you are getting this error on Direct X 9 mode. Additionally, if you are able to run it in Direct X 11, then you do in fact have Direct X 11 and performance will likely be similar, if not worse using Direct X 9 mode.

I can't tell for certain if this is the cause of the issue, however, I may get better insight if you list your laptops specifications.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Hate to break this to you but I was having the same error's until I bought a new graphics card because my old one did the same thing.

GTX 650 2gb it would play for a while up until I got to certain points like flying and then crashed with a DX error.

Bought a GTX 1050 ti 4gb errors are gone.

The graphics card isn't busted the gtx 650 just couldn't handle FFXIV but could play other games just fine without errors.

I think FFXIV just takes more power to run.

Disable Tessellation and SSAO see if that helps

Then again you could always try directx end time http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=8109

See if that helps fix it.
