Not sure if they fixed it but when I went for it, the fish in coerthas central didn't count towards the trophy.

But for casual fishing oh yeah.
I would call me a semi-casual. I pursue big fish at a very slow pace. I get what you're saying but I still pay attention and check skywatcher, plus have prompts on so I can hear the sound effect when I catch an HQ. Also my controller has the vibration function turned on so I can always tell when I have something on. I think I binge watched One Piece while going for the Olgoi in Southern Thanalan during 2.5. Once I get my crafters up I see me returning to big fish farming.

I don't find a whole lot of time to multitask while fishing. If I am unfamiliar with how the fish I am after bites and tugs, then I really need to pay attention. However, if I know how long the cast is, type of tug, etc. then I have more time to do other things like view videos, research mats or other fish etc. I never take my hand off of the controller though. Once a fish bites, you don't have a whole lot of time to reel it in before it gets away, and I would hate to lose a rare catch to a brainfart.
