The word commode, to a vast population of English speakers, immediately brings to mind a toilet. To the best of my knowledge, this is because while a commode is a piece of furniture, it was also the piece of furniture you would put a chamber pot in - AKA a toilet. Perhaps, "Vanity" or "Dresser" or even if you want to keep the more French feel "Bureau" would be a better choice.

I am from western Canada and while "commode" is not a regularly used word in day-to-day life, a toilet is the the only image it conjured up.

Please, please, please English localization team I beg you to change the commode word to a different one.
