I want tattoo options, like shoulder, back, stomach, etc. tats. I want ombre hair options. I want nail options, why don't miqo'te have claws??
But mostly, I just want tattoos...
A "fatal error" of 1.0 was that everything was composed of way too many polygons. 2.0 changed that by using textures instead of polygons on items and scenery.
Hair cannot be made simply with textures because it has to fall and move certain ways. They've optimized it but as we can see ingame, there's still a limit to it as longer hair (past the shoulders) tend to stick out on certain equipment. Longer hair would need more polygons for it to move and fall differently otherwise it will go straight through fluffy skirts and dresses. It's expensive not only for the developer but also the player because more polygons = larger strain on graphics generation.
TBH! I was actually going to reply back to this thread on this topic Neuflune. I myself, along with many others who probably don't know or fully understand what all goes into designing a game, implementing new textures and features, the price of programming etc. etc. HOWEVER, I do know for a fact that if they were to implement more customization options that were just slightly more advance in body/hair/tattoos and more, I would be extremely greatful to pay extra for this service, even as a premium customization option to help pay for what we demand. Does anyone else agree or disagree with this?? ^_^<3 I'm sure there's much more that goes into than just these obstacles, however I believe that this community is a great place, and we are all on either the same page if not in the same book of fantasy life! <3
They could add thicker limbs and torso especially for female characters. Except for Roe and Highlander, females are mostly thin and small atm. A slider for hips/butt would be good as well. Voluptous characters do exist in the FF games, such as Lulu.
More shades for hair, give hair styles as rewards for seasonal events, have crossovers with other FF games and implement their character/style to FFXIV (for example, Brave Exvius lets its players add Yshtola and co. to their party)
Not sure about changes to the face. Maybe implement a new face/ear/chin structure with each expansion at least?
I would be so happy to pay more than extra for a "Premium Customization" feature, and I don't think I'm the only one who would break on this. I can honestly hear the "Oh they want more money so they shouldn't charge us for customization options" but if that's what it took, I'd totally pay it.
Imagine a giant Lala the size of Roes.
And yet the only lawsuit surrounding Black Desert Online, despite its player replications of other game's characters and various celebrities, has been against the maker of BDO's largest botting program, Pyx.
Imagine that... the game that actually could suffer from said issues instead has only encountered distributor suits against one of its players, not the game or company itself in any way, for creating and distributing bot scripts and programs.
