    ffxiv_dx11 Error

    Hi Everyone

    So I know that many others have already made many posts about this error, and I've read a lot of the suggested solutions - tried them - but still haven't found one that works for me.

    Whenever I play FFXIV with directx11 turned on, after a short while I get this error message which crashes the game. I continue to get this error 3-4 more times, until eventually I get a complete blue screen of death crash and I have to restart my PC alltogether.

    Very strangely, after the blue screen & restart, the game then seems to work fine from that point onward. But everyday, I will get these DX11 errors, followed by a complete PC crash. I do realise that I could turn off DX11, but honestly I want to be able to play the game with DX11 enabled...

    I've seen so many people post about them receiving this error, that I know it's not just my pc, but I am yet to find a real solution to fix it. I am open to any ideas / suggestions.

    I am desperate, so I hope someone out there can help me. My raid group is tired of me crashing while we're in the middle of a boss fight

    Hello Belazarus, Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Have you tried running the game with no other programs running simultaneously? Try going to the startup tab on the task manager and disabling all of the programs. Then restart your PC. This should start the PC without any background applications. Then run the game without any other programs (Discord, Pingzapper, Geforce Experience, etc.). It's possible that one of these programs may be interfering with the game just enough to disconnect you only some of the time.

    Please let us know if this solves your issue so we can better assist other players who may have the same problem.

    Hi Ariellendera

    Thank you for your suggestion. I will certainly try this out and let you know how it goes.
    The only thing that would be quite disappointing, is not being able to use Discord while playing FF14 - since that is the primary way I communicate with my community in voice. I think I could manage with turning off all other applications, but it would be a great shame to not be able to voice chat with my free company friends in Discord.

    Anyway, I will give this a try and let you know how it all goes.

    Hey, I am not a staff here but I am wondering if you are doing any of the following ...

    - Using an AMD graphics card?
    - Overclocking your ram at all?
    - Playing the game on an external harddrive/ssd?
