Faerie is more active on peak times at night, but mostly is friendly people and LGBT+ community strong. I used to be in Sargatanas years ago, but dislike it.

Zalera's been good, even though there's been growing pains on my end as well as the server's (speaking as a Balmung refugee), namely with the hunt scene and how the two servers handle them fairly differently (but effectively, in both cases). Those growing pains mostly ironed out after 2-3 weeks into SB. I've been able to make piles more gil here than on Balmung, so the market here is a seller's haven, save for the knuckleheads that undercut by massive margins...but that's another thread subject that's happened for years (both here and in other games). I'm seeing a fairly decent amount of sprouts around when out in the zones looking for hunts. Despite being a recommended server, I do believe all houses have been bought up at this point, although that may be moot come 4.2...wishful thinking, of course. There's a bit of people all along the casual-hardcore spectrum, but since raiding can be done cross server, that's not quite as big a factor as it used to be.
When it comes to bratty players, I would personally rather deal with RPers having drama over pretend time than "competitive players" feverishly parsing and screaming at one another to "git gud". The amount of snowflakes on Balmung is the most annoying factor in my opinion but it's very easy to avoid these people by simply not interacting with them in their little realm where they are the supreme princess/prince. During content lulls you can always grab a snack and stand around the Quicksand, you'll find entertainment at all hours.

I like Shiva.
I started my adventure back in 2015 on Odin, but moved to Shiva 2016 with my old FC, not because I disliked it but...oh well...i didn't want to leave my FC at that time I guess.
Looking back on it now, it was the best desicion I could have made back then. Not so much becaus of my FC, since I seperated from them some time after the transfer. But because I met my ingame husband there who I still hold veeery dear to this day <3
About the amount of drama on Shiva, I guess there is some drama on every server. There are always ppl standing around and chatting in Limsa who all know each other and I heard of some drama in those cliques from different sources. But if you aren't part of this specific group, I guess it's a pretty chill server. Many Germans there too, which doesn't bother me, since I'm German myself.![]()
You know, it's funny you say that about Siren because I am originally from Coeurl and I came to Siren to raid with a different character. I started hanging out on Siren since 2015 and from that point on, my alt then became my main.Started on Famfrit, switched to Siren to join a personal friend in the FC that he's with. I've since started my own little quiet FC. Siren wasn't too bad, though it's definitely quiet due to patch lull. I like it because the content I usually go for, I can easily find in the PF. Sadly, I don't see many Siren raiders - a huge chunk of them seem to just hang out in Limsa and go AFK. Though I will say, I miss the excitement when the hunting linkshell I'm in, the largest on our server, engaged in a war over practically every hunt after Stormblood's release with a large FC.
It was interesting - the hunters vs that FC to see who could could claim whatever S/A rank was discovered before the other party found out.
What people say about Coeurl is true, which is partially why I left. Coeurl is in many ways a small town. Or at least it was small when I was last there. I heard a lot of Greg and Balmung expats moved in lately but I haven't stuck around much to notice. Most people are super friendly and very sociable! But Coeurl just did not have many people that I could reliably ask to join in on the raiding shenanigans. It's really a who you know kind of server, and most of who you know thinks that crafting is a good time.
When I established myself on Siren, I met all sorts of people that loved to do endgame content. I got to experience a lot of extreme primals for the first time and then dove right into the savage game shortly after. Thanks to Siren, I've completed all of coil, Alexander, and Omega 1-4 savage. I've mostly hung out with my own circles that I've networked with before cross server was a thing. It definitely made it a lot easier back then to identify who did what, and then once you got to know the party leader, you met all these others that also love to farm that kind of content.
In a way, I like to think Siren is a lot like Coeurl. They are both smaller, social servers and most people are friendly. But I think the difference on Siren is that there is a very clear divide in player type, and based on who you hang out with, you may venture more in the farm group or the casual/hunt/shenanigans group. There is no shortage of endgamers on Siren; a lot of us are just taking a break until the patch in Jan. I wanted to experience a little bit of the casual side too, so that is why I joined a casualish FC that mostly is just fun and chatty for a change of pace. Kinda reminds me of home.
(Haha, I also totally know what FC you're talking about with the terrible rep. People like to antagonize them, but for realsies, not all of them are jerks. The hunt wars on this server are so stupid it's hilarious.)
Nice smaller server with nice people.

I don't see a lot of mention of Brynhildr on here. My experience so far has been pretty pleasant. I can safely say by the way that Val Hallen (our resident 80s Glam Rock inspired Miqo'te) is pretty much a mascot at Limsa Lominsa, he is always dancing there for GODs know how long lol.
As for the Lalafell Civil War, I didn't see any of that going on.

The game feels rather empty...![]()

Cerberus is nice - lively, normal MB prices, the content do-ers present. I switched to this server at the beginning of 3.0 from NA server I forgot the name of, since I live in EU and started on NA cuz of a friend from US.
Plus I met some amazing peeps on Cerb ^^
Gilgamesh is alright. I know some good people and I know some obnoxious douchebags. The marketboards are...kind of all over the place. Lots of people with lots of retainers means prices are a bit low, both for weal and for woe. The fact that it was raiding heavy until cross server raids means there are more of "those" types floating around, but if you stay out of Rhalgr's Reach unnecessarily you should be fine. Maybe Limsa lower decks too at certain times. Its still not all that bad though. I don't figure there's much benefit in going somewhere else, it's likely similar, and I've already got a house I busted arse to buy and furnish. That said, in the same vein, unless you have friends here already, there's probably no point in specifically coming to Gilgamesh either.
