The current way of doing it IS working. Gilgamesh was locked and now it's not. Balmung just needs more time, and any amount of foot stomping that you or your friends or anyone else would do won't help it at all. Want to play with your friends? Get them to transfer servers or make alts on your server. That's it.

Or wait another year until Balmung loses enough people for it to open again.
