    Nvidia

Ok I just found out something scary and annoying. Did a lot of research on this but basically when there's a lot of things going on on screen like in alliance raids or hunts Nvidia hands off the work to the cpu....this basically slows everything down and your and you notice a stutter when it does.

The fix is very obscure, basically you need to go to nvidia control panel and go to physix in the menu and instead of setting it to Auto you set it to the nvidia card and that basically fixes any harsh slowdowns during raids/hunts.

I hope square enix takes notes and hope this helps some people.

If there are other information about nvidia to make ffxiv run better on pc please post it here thank you

Also make sure to update your drivers

I'm not sure what SE can do about it given that it's a drivers issue. Thanks for the heads up tho, I'll deffo look into it now o.o

Correct me if I'm wrong, but despite being a game works title, FFXIV uses Havok for it's physics simulation no?

    Ok I have new information...
So a new nvidia update came out today 12/20..I installed it and it reverted the Physx setting back to auto. This means whenever you update nvidia you have to check to see that it keeps it set to your nvidia card

I think the problem is related to cpu, if your cpu is too good it will try to use that instead of your nvidia card..

    Define 'too good'?

I've got an I7 4790K. No issues here. Latest drivers as always.

I have issues on the 24 man raid Rabanastre, I will try this, but I'm sure this game uses Havok, not PhysX. So I don't think it is related.

I don't think so...I think it uses physx for animation only but not for physics
    Look here https://www.havok.com/showcase/?frm-page-1742=3

So yes, in nvidia control panel make sure to set physx to your nvidia card
