They do need to fix this. No one on my server ever queues for it. They should let us zone in individually -- at least the gatherers. Maybe they could do something like allow solo queues for the first 10 minutes of each real world hour and just lump everyone that queues together (be it a full party or one person.)


It's the only thing I haven't done since coming back for 4.0. I wasn't around for 3.0. The Diadem in particular seems tucked away in a corner hidden behind some sheets, while everything else I have no problem finding and running.



I started during HW. Diadem was pretty much dead at that time. It picked up just before SE announce is was being closed for renovations as people queued with the fear that they would lose access to existing items. After it reopened it also had a lot of activity but that slowed to next to nothing after most people had farmed what they wanted from it. Given where we are in the cycle I think it would be good if it was handled like the open world where people party up as needed to complete group content. Folks could gather or whatever and when the minion FATES start the could team together to complete it. This is more or less what happened when it was active anyway. After completing the mandatory stuff players went off on their own until something happened.
Yes yes and yes. I don't know how hard it would be to do but it's time to open up the Diadem!
And they advertise Eureka to be like Diadem. Really, Team Yoshi... <_<



Those are actually amazing ideas savagelf! Opening it for light farming for older relics is actually a pretty fun way to keep diadem alive. I also like the WT idea for it also, something you run a few times a week for WT.
Anything that gives diadem more value like this would be great. In my opinion though what they should do is make fates more rare, like very rare and make us fight normal monsters until special fates come out that give out a lot of rewards/relic lights/other things.
Fates are fun but it gets overwhelming because there's so many. Would be funner if they were special and instead we hunted the regular enemies for Diadem completion.


I do think this is a good idea. And before anyone says "Well how would it work cross-realm because you all need to be in the same zone?" - please see Palace of the Dead. You can queue as a fixed party cross-realm, so long as you're all in the South Shroud on your respective realm at the point of queueing. I don't see why they couldn't just slapstick that code together for Diadem (since the foundation is already there with POTD, or is FFXIV really that much of a code mess?) and allow us to queue that way.
Now, as for enabling us to invite to party mid instanced duty (as some people have hinted at), is that possible with the existing codebase already in the game? Like, is there an instanced duty that lets you invite people to party once inside the duty? I've not seen any![]()
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.


From early interwiews they said that you'll be also able to que alone for this, which would make it much better in comparison (and the strengthening of the gear-potd-like could alleviate things in the future to come



The only time they get mentioned together is when they say it's not like Diadem, then people pass information around and distort it a little in each retelling until it's something entirely false. Eureka is basically a new content category which hasn't appeared in FF XIV so far - should be detailed in the next letter from producer.
Regarding Diadem, I liked it. For some reason they didn't update the rewards that can be received from lockboxes post-Stormblood and left it to die. It also has a random pop raid area that needs 40+ people to clear (max 72) and they need to know mechanics; fight doesn't reset on a wipe so you only have 1 shot >.>. If they don't adjust that, there will never be enough participants to ever see that fight again.
