I'm sorry for derailing this topic and the cases of possible griefing and harassment shouldn't be ours to discuss.
Only remark is that griefing and harassmant is possible and can/will happen in a low percentage.

    Last Offtopic for me:

I'm no crafter i just leveld them and it is very easy with the Ixali and Moogle beast tribe quests, it only needs some time.

    Back on topic:

My basic stand is against repair requests in duties, because it should never happen to be needed and it would just take responsibility away from the player to care for their gear.
If a repair request in duties should be implemented it should focus on the successful completion of the duty.
    So this is my suggestion:
    Emergency Repair Request
    • A player with broken or almost broken gear (<30%?) can request a Emergency Repair from another player with the right crafters leveld high enough.
    • Either the player requesting the repair has to supply the dark matter for the repair or the repairing player has to supply the dark matter. In the later case the requesting player has to pay for the repair like he would buy the dark matter used for the repair from an NPC.
    • The broken or almost broken gear can be repaired up to 50% durability. So the duty can be completed without further hindrance but the Emergency Repair is no preferable option to normal repairs at a mender or selfrepair.
This would aim for the target of successfully completing the duty without further hindrance and a highly reduced probability to make this a prefered option for lazy players to save some gil for repairs.

I'm sorry for not focusing on the more important points and derailing the topic.
@Krotoan We can discuss different styles of playing the game in another topic. If you are willing to contribute, be my guest.

This would be an extremely welcome feature, in my personal opinion. Speaking strictly from experience: my static does not have a bunch of omnicrafters, and when we have had to halt prog to back out and repair gear, it gets annoying. Especially back when we were doing Neo prog—back out for repairs and have to deal with Exdeath again. I’d love the option to just repair my static mates gear. Is it their fault for not checking their gear before we started prog? Yes. But why shouldn’t I be able to just repair the gear for them, provided them or I have the Dark Matter required (which I keep 5 stacks on me so usually not an issue).

Love the idea, this will bring benefit in term of convenience, but the harm to the community and game outweigh the benefit..

Imagine you keep encountering this kind of player in the game, you have to argue, queue/re-queue, and many other things.. Would you be happy??
Remember FFXIV is a just a game, and we all play it for the purpose of fun and enjoyment, if I have to argue all the time while doing my daily runs, I rather quit the game once and for all.. There is no point playing a game that stress you out..

I do level crafters to repair my equipments. My friend also do the same, it's not actually rare you know, in this case, I would say it's pretty common.

“Request Repair” will make some players entirely stop checking their gears’s condition so I don’t agree with this suggestion.
Just add Mender NPC or Mender object or Mender Aether at the front of duty’s entrance.

I don't see how adding this will create more harm than good, personally. People already don't check their gear when they go into dungeons, this is why this feature is requested occasionally. Making it sound like adding this will bring about the apocalypse where no one checks their gear anymore sounds exaggerated to me. Especially since there is no guarantee that you'll have a crafter who can fix your particular gear for you in the dungeon you're going into. If you want to wrap this up in a nice bow all together, make it so that the dark matter used has to be in the inventory of the person requesting the fix rather than the fixer and leave gil out of this outright. I don't think this will wreck things so much as give certain groups a way to continue with their content when the tank with their instant queue didn't see the notification their gear is broken.

I would like to see this feature added.

    My suggestions would be:
    - The player requesting a repair does not need dark matter and that the game simply charges them the same fee as the Mender NPC. This takes gil out of the game and does not cost the crafter anything except time.
    - Repairs should not go above 100% (I'd be happy with the suggestion of 50% that someone made above, which would discourage people from relying on this)
    - Repairing should of course, be entirely at the crafter's discretion. If someone comes into a dungeon with broken or almost broken gear then a kick is justified, but it would be nice to have the option to help people out.

This would be very helpful for statics learning fights and for dps players like me who would much prefer to repair someone's gear over having the group fold and going back to sitting in a queue for 20 minutes.

If we're not getting a repair npc inside dgns, then this idea seems like the next best thing. Worrying about how this enables bad habits or how it can be abused seems inane imo, mostly because abuse and laziness will always exist in all forms. Why deny myself this convenience? I may be diligent when it comes to my gear but I am still human and thus I can still commit mistakes. It's nice to know that someone else would recognize that and lend me a hand if I need it, rather than hang it over my head like no one has ever made mistakes before.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

if you add incentives to make people repair at NPC's instead it wont. Like make it cheaper.. or give more Durability back if you get it repaired at an NPC.

I did. Well, and also for glamours (which have since been made far easier to obtain *sigh*), but I mostly did it for repairs.

Those are literally two of the benefits you get from bothering to level your crafters, so no.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
