I'm sorry for derailing this topic and the cases of possible griefing and harassment shouldn't be ours to discuss.
Only remark is that griefing and harassmant is possible and can/will happen in a low percentage.

Last Offtopic for me:

I'm no crafter i just leveld them and it is very easy with the Ixali and Moogle beast tribe quests, it only needs some time.

Back on topic:

My basic stand is against repair requests in duties, because it should never happen to be needed and it would just take responsibility away from the player to care for their gear.
If a repair request in duties should be implemented it should focus on the successful completion of the duty.
So this is my suggestion:
Emergency Repair Request
  • A player with broken or almost broken gear (<30%?) can request a Emergency Repair from another player with the right crafters leveld high enough.
  • Either the player requesting the repair has to supply the dark matter for the repair or the repairing player has to supply the dark matter. In the later case the requesting player has to pay for the repair like he would buy the dark matter used for the repair from an NPC.
  • The broken or almost broken gear can be repaired up to 50% durability. So the duty can be completed without further hindrance but the Emergency Repair is no preferable option to normal repairs at a mender or selfrepair.
This would aim for the target of successfully completing the duty without further hindrance and a highly reduced probability to make this a prefered option for lazy players to save some gil for repairs.

I'm sorry for not focusing on the more important points and derailing the topic.
@Krotoan We can discuss different styles of playing the game in another topic. If you are willing to contribute, be my guest.
