Question about the Starlight 2017 event and the optional rewards

Am I doing something wrong or am I screwed? Because I turned in the Starlight Quest and completed it, got my bear and wanted to farm that FATE to get all of the optional rewards but when I do the FATE's and throw Starbursts at the Treants it does 0 damage to them. Is it impossible to get the optional rewards once you complete the seasonal event? That is... really stupid if that's the case unless I'm missing something. I'm not seeing anything mentioned about this on the Lodestone page so please help if I'm not doing something right. Is there a repeatable quest I have to take?

are you hitting level sync? the only other thing i can think of is if you are using your bear or getting it from the guy standing by the fate

You have to use the bear mount from the NPC just a little north of the FATE and you have to level sync (of course). Your own bear doesn't count for the FATE.

omg I never even saw that guy at the FATE area until you said this. That was the problem lol it let me do the FATE after I got on his bear instead of mine I was just running around super confused for 30 minutes wondering why it wasn't working anymore. Thank you. I wish I could delete this topic now though to hide my error. D:

It's like having to turn on Collectable Synthesis first before crafting a Custom Delivery for Zhloe the Pineapple Pudding Cat. (I learned that the hard way!) You can't go into an instance task like that without using the correct tools and presets.
