if you add incentives to make people repair at NPC's instead it wont. Like make it cheaper.. or give more Durability back if you get it repaired at an NPC.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
I don't see how adding this will create more harm than good, personally. People already don't check their gear when they go into dungeons, this is why this feature is requested occasionally. Making it sound like adding this will bring about the apocalypse where no one checks their gear anymore sounds exaggerated to me. Especially since there is no guarantee that you'll have a crafter who can fix your particular gear for you in the dungeon you're going into. If you want to wrap this up in a nice bow all together, make it so that the dark matter used has to be in the inventory of the person requesting the fix rather than the fixer and leave gil out of this outright. I don't think this will wreck things so much as give certain groups a way to continue with their content when the tank with their instant queue didn't see the notification their gear is broken.

I would like to see this feature added.
My suggestions would be:
- The player requesting a repair does not need dark matter and that the game simply charges them the same fee as the Mender NPC. This takes gil out of the game and does not cost the crafter anything except time.
- Repairs should not go above 100% (I'd be happy with the suggestion of 50% that someone made above, which would discourage people from relying on this)
- Repairing should of course, be entirely at the crafter's discretion. If someone comes into a dungeon with broken or almost broken gear then a kick is justified, but it would be nice to have the option to help people out.
This would be very helpful for statics learning fights and for dps players like me who would much prefer to repair someone's gear over having the group fold and going back to sitting in a queue for 20 minutes.

If we're not getting a repair npc inside dgns, then this idea seems like the next best thing. Worrying about how this enables bad habits or how it can be abused seems inane imo, mostly because abuse and laziness will always exist in all forms. Why deny myself this convenience? I may be diligent when it comes to my gear but I am still human and thus I can still commit mistakes. It's nice to know that someone else would recognize that and lend me a hand if I need it, rather than hang it over my head like no one has ever made mistakes before.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I never used carbonized matter to repair myself,to be honest.
3 - 4 years in this game,not even once.
Waste of spaces.
I mean, Carbonized Matter was for materia melding before Stormblood, then for vendor trashing at progressively lower amounts of gil ever since. It is Dark Matter that we repair with. And really, you only had to have one stack (of 99 or so) of the highest grade once your crafters were high enough (ten levels or less below the cap). Just restock the one stack once or twice a week, maybe, but it's not that much of a space waster to be perfectly honest.
