Merchant house remove.

Well I want to remove this skin to change the roof and other features of the exterior of my house but it does not leave me, when entering the remodeling menu it only allows me to change the skin for another skin and it does not give me the possibility to change the rest.

it an overlay skin take the place of all ext slots.

If you have one of the total overlay skins such as Moogles, eatery, supplier, etc., it reskins most of the outside. It will show you what you can and cannot change without redoing the whole skin. The merchant skin does the whole outside but you can still dye/paint it. Otherwise, you will either have to click and drag out the merchant skin if you want to start over without a special skin.

As the others have said, when you get one of those skins it's an all or nothing deal, you can't change parts of them which is why if you roam around they all look the same. You can change the paint color and supposedly in the next patch you'll be able to remove the housing skin without destroying it to try something else.

This is one item which tooks i think 6 or all slots of the exterior.
You can't just take the wall but exchange the roof, you have to change all relevant exterior slots to exchange it.

ok then how do I remove the skin.

You'll have to replace at least the "exterior wall" portion I think, you may have to fill in all the gaps like roof, fence, door and windows as well. This will permanently delete the current housing skin however.

edit: This cold is making me slow, Legion88 said it above. Need to replace all the non-optional parts to the house.

You have to buy a wall, roof, window, door that fit your housing size/region. You drag the item into the slot even if the slot is currently 'greyed' out.

Don't need a fence unless you want one, you'll just get the default fence.

So i have a Medium Shirogane Castle Wall applied to my Goblet house and I want to revert it back temporarily. I keep getting a message "You do not possess the appropriate Exterior Wall Items," but I have the following in my inventory:
Oasis Cottage Wall (wood), Oasis Oblong Window, Oasis Cottage Roof (Wood), Oasis Arched Door, & Oasis Crowned Door. I still get the same message error. Any help would be appreciated. (Note: I would think this can be accomplished w/o spending 1M to re-buy the housing permit.)

Update: Scratch that. I just realized that since I have a medium house, it's not 'cottage' items I require, but "house" items. There are Cottage, House, and Mansion, house parts. My oversight or lack of housing knowledge snafu! >.<

I ran into this exact problem a couple days ago. The way you remove it is to replace the exterior roof, walls, windows, and door, all at the same time. Once you do that, you'll finally see a preview of the new skins. Confirming the change at this point will remove the merchant skin, which will return to your inventory, and apply the new skins. In addition, you'll be able to add the other elements, that is, fence, wall decoration, and roof ornament.
