    small lags on ps4

    hi there im playing on ps4 and ever since patch 4.15 ive been getting these small lags. when i and others around me are moving i will continue to move but everyone else including enemies will just stop moving for 3 - 4 seconds then be in a different place from where the stopped. it just occurs randomly and it happens whenever i log on to play.

    I am very sorry you are experiencing these Lags. It is pretty common for a new patch to cause some connection issues. I am going to provide you some troubleshooting steps that should resolve your issue. If these steps to resolve your issue please let us know so, we can further assist other players.

    The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on PSN web browser. Please make sure that "Cookies" and "JavaScript" are ENABLED on the PSN Browser. This can be done by going to the web browser on the PS4, press the options button, then go to settings. The options for Cookies and Javascript will most likely be checked, uncheck them and then recheck them.

    The fault may also lie with the "Date & Time" settings on your PlayStation 4. We would advise to please follow the provided steps to adjust your console's clock to assure it is accurate and up-to-date:
    Close the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
    Go to [SETTINGS] on your PS4.
    Select [Date and Time], and "Set via Internet". (Please do not manually set the date and time.)
    Once, the date and time settings have been updated, please restart your PlayStation 4 console.
    Once your console has fully restarted, please start the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
    Please make sure all other internet-enabled devices (including smartphones, laptop/desktop PCs, tablets, etc.) have been disabled and/or turned OFF to minimize game interference.

    If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error. (Not the same as a connection error.)
    Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
    *This can be done by visiting www.portforward.com, locate your specific Router/Modem Brand and Model Number from the 'List of Routers', and you will find a step-by-step guide on how to access your ports.

    If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your console directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the console for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.

    If you continue to receive these same errors when you are connected directly to the modem, then the problem lies with your ISP. We would recommend contacting them and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access on these ports.

    Are there any computers on your wifi? If so, try to make sure they aren't downloading updates or anything else while you're playing as this will cause this lag. Also, if you haven't, I'd suggest trying to change your DNS settings to something like google's DNS, which might help you a little with the lag.

    hi there thought id give a update so i did most of the troubleshooting suggestions and none of them worked i have to w8 till my brother gets back to talk to virgin media as its in his name and for some reason in the last 48 hours at random im now getting disconnected from the game i get error 90002.

    hi there giving an update ive tried all steps now and can confirm didnt work but since the recent patch been geting less lag but im now getting constant connection errors 90002. it happens when i change screens example whenever the screen goes black while teleporting n screen goes black with name of area or when i finish dungeons/raids/pvp then screen goes black i get error 90002. ive tried the steps provided and its not on my end i even have tried other online games such as destiny 2 and final fantasy 15 comrades to see if its the same but they work fine.

    Which troubleshooting suggestions did you try?

    Is your PS4 connected via a wireless connection or a wired ethernet cable?

    Have you tried playing the game on another device or another location (if you have another available)?

    hi there i tried all troubleshooting methods and none of them worked.

    im on wireless connection tried a wired didn't work.

    only have my ps4 to play on in and only location i play.

    i received the email you sent and replied with the relevant information so only thing i can do is w8 for a reply back.

    i also recently tried deleting the game from my ps4 then downloaded it again but that didn't work either don't suppose you can give an estimate when we will get word back from the emails we were sent?
