I once gave myself freckles that appear to glow, I still have them. Did I consult anyone? Only the bank manager as I had to buy fantasia. That got me an odd look for wasting his time over such an enquiry. Anyway. He let me do it but apart from that. I did not consult nor should I have to.
Next youlll be complaining because she was pink haired and is now black haired and she looks different and you don't like that. If they do say they look good and move on. Compliment their colour choice of hair and that decision was a good one. Don't drop them because you preferred pink.

You can change your freckles/facepaint and color through the aesthetician. Don't even need a fantasia. But I agree, whatever a person wants to do with their character should be their choice and theirs alone, no need to consult anyone or get permission for anything. Your character, your rules.

You’re a good person the problem with zexy is she/he doesn’t listen to explainations. They act like a troll that wants people to hate them, it would do them good to be banned from the ffxiv community. Maybe then they would learn.

Can't tell people your feeding a troll without feeding the troll yourself. Ah well. No win win here.

Either way, OP trolling aside - I'm in the, "Don't have to tell anyone anything." group. If I want to change my race, I will. If a friend changing their race make you feel differently about the person, you weren't a friend. And that friend better off without you in their life.

In my case, thankfully I have a very good rp partner/friend. I change my race every five-six months flipping between midlander and miqo'te. It doesn't effect our RP since all of ours is done over discord (FFXIV chat limits -plz.). And if he changed his race one day from an Au Ra to a lalafell, I'd still love his face all the same... though I may punt him a few times for fun >
