Why no capped tome increase?

Serious question, why wasn't the cap for Tomes of Creation increased from 450 to 900 with 4.8?

It feels like 450 is way too small and makes gearing a spec (much less 2+) take forever. Seeing as they nerfed the cost of the Prototype Tomestone from 7 Crystaloids to 4 I'm surprised to see the capped tome's got ignored completely.

Capped tomes only get the increasment of the cap at the end of the expansion, short before the new expansion.

I don't know for sure why they included the capped tomestones anyway, but i think to remember Yoshi said to balance the gear progress between hardcore and casual players and 450 seemd to be best in their eyes.
Also the cap was only 300, not sure, but it was lower in the beginning of ARR and was increased around or before 2.2 to the current cap.
The 900 cap increase only came to existence in 2.55 before Heavensward and in 3.55 before Stormblood. The next time we can expect the 900 cap is short before the next expansion.

If you really need more end ilvl gear, farm Savage. I know it isn't always BiS but it has the same ilvl.

They really should consider raising or remove the cap, the game is extremely dead right now with no relic to grind, unlimited tomes tomes might keep people subbed to have something to do.

While I agree that the game is super dead right now with no relics out to grind (outside of the old ones), I doubt raising/removing the tomestone cap would do it. Personally speaking, I’m barely capping the 450 right now. I’m working on Animas and thinking of picking up a Zeta or two because that’s how bored I am right now. :/

I barely cap with 450 nowadays unless I get some decent Savage farms or decide to do some PvP. Uncapping tomes won't do a thing to alleviate the fact there just isn't much to do, unfortunately.

Because they will be uncapped at 4.2.

As soon as 4.2 is released it will be increased to 2k and the new tome to 450
