Aurun Vale first room is good in teaching tanks that they should not always pull everything and that walking is sometimes faster than running.

i think heroic version aurum vale where garlean make their last stand would be fun
Im not sure how this thread got so long AV isnt even hard maybe your first run its a step up but other than that its not even hard at all neither or any of the other dungeons
it's not even that bad, it's just the level bracket it's in is extremely stupid.
All - seriously when are we going to stop feeding this troll? About the last six posts have followed the same pattern - post something vaguely innocuous, spend the next three pages making increasingly provocative statements, step back open popcorn and watch the fun. Just ignore the blithering idiot right from the get go.
It's just top 3 ugliest dungeons of all time imo.
I just don't understand what these mechanics are that are so difficult for people to overcome that make the dungeon unfun... don't stand in poison = win.it's these kinds of responses that make me angry. I am good and can complete this dungeon if need be but sir it isn't fun to me. When I play I want to have fun and the mechanics of this dungeon are not I repeat fun to me. It could be fun to you but it's not about you it is about me.
What makes it more difficult than others is that its level 49
This dungeon is only hard if the tank pulls more than they can handle at the start. They have to be aware that some of the monsters are moving around and might get too close and start attacking.
Other than that, the healer just needs to know that AoE heals are a thing, and DPS have to mind their distance on the second boss. Easyyy!
I tanked Aurum Vale yesterday for the first time, with my sister who plays WHM and it was also her first time. It wasn't too bad. Healer died once on the ogre boss because she stood too close to him. Other than that and one of the DPS pulling a few times (on purpose) it was relatively painless. Other DPS wanted to 100% clear but I pretty much vetoed that because first-time healer and first-time tank don't really need that and the XP isn't really worth it.
It's not a difficult dungeon, it's just (as someone else said) restrictive in terms of visibility and very, very narrow in a lot of parts. It's not even a very long dungeon (Toto-Rak is WAY longer and can be confusing if you don't keep your map open).
Canadian, eh!"When someone told me I live in a fantasy land, I nearly fell off my unicorn"
Not doing full clear when requested is a scumbag move in my book.
