I don't mind Aurum Vale that much either. The first time I did it, I was with friends who explained the fruit mechanics in the boss fights, so didn't get too overwhelmed. My first experience as tank was a little daunting though, having only been there two or three times as DPS/healer before that - I died a few times in that first room before taking it slower and more cautiously. Fortunately the party were patient with me, and it went more smoothly after that.

My personal least-favourite dungeon (as of ARR post-credits game) is Hullbreaker Isle.

Hahaha, that's what I call them all the time! I hate the noises they make, plus I had a terrible experience with one in FFX that led to a torturously slow party wipe after I'd spent over an hour levelling in the bonus dungeon, and was nearly at the exit....

Put me in the "love Auran Vale" camp. It punishes people that try to just zerg forward and mindlessly AoE everything at once. That's a good thing.

The fact that it's arguably the hardest dungeon in levelling and expert roulette combined is not a good thing, but that's on how absurdly easy stuff in expert is. Looking at you, Kugane Castle.

Anyone seen Bram Stoker's Dracula, and the scene where Vlad refers to the howling of the wolves as music that he enjoys, then Keanu is there all, "MUSIC!?"

THAT is The Aurum Vale, and the reaction typically given when I say that this dungeon is one of the most beautiful dungeons in the game. I've even decorated my home with some of the flora that can be found within it. This dungeon is absolutely perfect, and one of my favorites to get in roulette. I really wish SE would toss more dungeons like this one our way.

I do enjoy the difficulty here. I love that this place has earned its reputation. Some will say it's a tank check. Some will say it's a healing check. But to be honest, having played every role here, it's an everyone check. Regardless of how you feel about the difficulty here, this dungeon is one of the least forgiving for derps. If no one messes up, you'll get through it without breaking a sweat. But something as simple as a DPS taking the healer's fruit can wipe the party.

This is a dungeon that teaches players to "git gud!" Nothing, and I mean absolutely NOTHING needs to be changed with AV. Don't you touch my precious AV!

I can see an argument there. That doesn't seem very unreasonab--

    O-Oh? Oh my?!

All Malboro should be set on fire and then promptly thrown into the deepest, darkest abyss. FFVIII PTSD demands it.

Malboros are just misunderstood is all. Bad Breath is just a defense mechanism. Like Aurum Vale, we really should just keep our distance

And you have to love the names of those furnishings: Bloodblossoms and Death's fingers!

In my defense, my character also sleeps in a coffin.

And this is why you used to see lots of dps que for it that did not need it. Lots of comments about people needing the dungeon. No lots of people want you to carry them for xp. It is pretty obvious when someone is new. Generally they are silent. Pretty obivous when someone got bored of fates and wants you to dungeon farm. "Lets kill everything and hatch all the morbols." This shouldn't even be a thing dungeon should only come up as roulette or someone who needs it. Not to farm someone a bunch of xp where there are much better choices.

Uh, what? I don't understand what you're trying to say.

Chevronone's comment is legitimately useful. When you let the Malboro Seedlings spawn, they're 1.) super squishy and 2.) give very nice level-appropriate EXP. If you're in Aurum Vale to level - and if you're not, I'm not sure why you're there - then you should absolutely let them hatch/spawn and then kill them. Especially in the room between bosses #2 and #3.

Dungeons are the best source of experience, and that has always been the case. FATEs don't even come close (aside from the fact that they are extremely boring). What exactly is so wrong with people letting the Morbols hatch and killing them for the extra experience? I fail to understand your logic.

People who queue directly into AV at level 47~49 are people that need the dungeon and need the experience, because dungeons are always the best source of experience, especially when you’re at-level for a specific one. Maybe some would rather do actual dungeons instead of speedrunning PotD or grinding FATEs.

You classify it as need and I classify it as want. Really Fates and POTD are your only xp/min choices before level 50 compared to aurum vale. That is why it will never be a need for me. The game has more then enough xp choices. If the only other option was fate I would also give people a pass like early 2.0.

Was a chart on reddit and dungeon xp/min was not the highest as of 4.0.
