Noob question. How often does the major content patches come out? And can I enjoy some of the features without buying the expansions?

Major content patches happen roughly every three and a half months. Usually with one or two minor patches between. Some features can indeed be enjoyed without owning the expansions. The Glamour Dresser and Fashion Check are likely among the features that don't require expansions, though we won't know for sure until we get the preliminary patchnotes next friday

Indeed. And as examples on the other end: Most real "playable" content (trials, dungeons, raids) are generally storyquest-and-expansion -locked. Although I think palace of the dead was available with just base ARR when it was added?
