Names change throughout history, and while we may know the Jester Voidsent as Ferdiad, some one in some far off land could know him as Kefka, I imagine he's likely appeared a number of times throughout Hydaelyn's history.I personally think it is genius that the voiceover goes on while the new glamour system is shown
Regarding the primals I think they will be integrated only as much as the warring triads were. A small mention followed by their own separate storyline.
As for Ferdiad... why would he be renamed Kefka if it were the same being?

Yes, but it didn't happen with Halicarnassus. There was the mythological being used by Omega and there was the random voidsent that reminded people of Halicarnassus, who messed up Haukke Manor.

Asahi showing up in Varis' stead isn't a problem. What I more have a problem is is that I can't think of a way the Scions (or the Alliance for that matter) can verify that he's presenting what Varis' stance on certain topics actually is. As in, what's to prevent Varis from telling Asahi that certain options are on the table when Varis knows they aren't? Everyone kinda has to take Asahi's word for it that he's presenting Varis' stance accurately and there's so many ways that could go wrong I really don't see any good reason to trust him.
Another group that Varis having an alliance with the Scions/Eorzean Alliance could cause a lot of problems for: the Garlond Ironworks. Forget Cid (and Nero), most of the people in the Ironworks are people who escaped with Cid from Garlamald (this includes Jessie, Biggs and Wedge). As far as how bad of a problem this could be for them... most of the Ironworks employees (especially the ones from Garlemald) use fake names so that the Garleans have a harder time figuring out who in the Garlean Empire they can use as blackmail against the Ironworks...

I don't think the Ironworks is at risk. I doubt that the Scions would accept any deal that put the Ironworks in danger, particularly since the Scions are likely to be highly sceptical even to start with. Varis would know this would be a hard sell and if it is something he actually wants he is going to have to allow some concessions to get the Scion's aid. Again, I think this is part of a bigger game Varis is playing and he might genuinely want the use of the WoL and the Scion's expertise. After all the WoL has been very successful at putting down Primals. At the very least such an alliance might stop the Scions and even Doma undermining Garlean rule.Asahi showing up in Varis' stead isn't a problem. It shouldn't be that hard to verify, there is a garlean embassy over in Kugane which presumably has been given instructions regarding Garlemald's diplomatic plans. If not it shouldn't take them too long to confirm if this guy is legit, assuming we don't meet him there to begin with.Asahi showing up in Varis' stead isn't a problem. Noob question. How often does the major content patches come out? And can I enjoy some of the features without buying the expansions?

Major content patches happen roughly every three and a half months. Usually with one or two minor patches between. Some features can indeed be enjoyed without owning the expansions. The Glamour Dresser and Fashion Check are likely among the features that don't require expansions, though we won't know for sure until we get the preliminary patchnotes next friday

Indeed. And as examples on the other end: Most real "playable" content (trials, dungeons, raids) are generally storyquest-and-expansion -locked. Although I think palace of the dead was available with just base ARR when it was added?Major content patches happen roughly every three and a half months. When I saw the embassy in kugane I kinda expected that we'll make some diplomatics contacts with garlemand tbh.
In fact I would say that this was predictable

I'm actually rather glad that Kefka is showing up in such a manner. Aside from being a huge fan of FFVI, I always found it rather troubling that so many here were convinced that Regula van Hydrus was going to be the 'Kefka' of FFXIV. Thankfully that did not happen and he ended up being the General Leo of FFXIV instead.
