Direct X 11000002 errors every time

I have been experiencing this problem since Sunday morning [17 December 2017]. No problems whatsoever previously (including Saturday). Have brought Nvidia drivers up to latest version, have also installed latest updates for Windows 10. Have ALSO totally removed and re-installed the FFXIV game files.

Still getting errors. Downgrading to Direct X 9 works, but is painful to look at on 32" monitor, so this is not a solution I want to have to deal with long-range.

Don't understand why this occurred so suddenly between the 16th and 17th of this month.

Good afternoon, and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Can you think of something that may have updated or changed on your PC that correlates with the error? Like an OS update or anti-virus update?

If you play in DirectX 9 mode, are there any crashes or instability?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

DirectX 9 mode doesn't appear to have any crash/instability, although it still looks terrible [shadows on things ahead of me waver as I move toward them, for example].

As far as I know, absolutely nothing changed on the system between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

DxDiag doesn't show any problems - it's using DirectX 12 with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB video memory. I've had the same setup for almost a year at this point.

I do use a second monitor.

Good Morning DPZ2. Thank you for your reply.

If you are using GeForce experience. This can interfere with the game. Try disabling the GeForce as well as any other overlays or background applications that might be running. Please let us know if this works for you.

Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV!

No difference after GeForce Experience is disabled. No background apps running. Still getting the error.

As a final note, I am no longer experiencing the DirectX errors. The Nvidia GTX 1060 card that came with my system finally decided to display the fact that there was a hardware issue rather than covering things up with supposed software problems. I replaced the card with a newer dual fan model yesterday, and the game has been working fine ever since.

    Thanks for your assistance, Ariellendera.
