    I think I fixed the issue.
    Replaced my modem, and haven't disconnected on golden or anywhere else for 2 days so far. In case anyone is interested, the new modem I have is a Netgear CM400. Seems to work both with and without a router.

    To add, none of those internet explorer settings fixed it, nor did replacing my GPU. Couldn't get the port forward thing to work with my dynamic IP, and my old modem was one of those wireless modems with a router built in, so I couldn't connect directly to it.

    That's great to hear best_girl,

    There must have been something with that old router that caused the disconnects. This thread will be moved to the 'Closed Concerns' subforum as the thread creator has found a resolution to their issue.
