    Basic Crafting Questions

    Hey there,

Just decided to level up my Armorsmith a bit, seeing as i had a bunch of tin lying around I decided to make some Bronze Bars. So I'm sitting there whacking away and I get my quality up to 127 and I get a Bronze Bar +1. Great!?! I'm assuming it has a higher quality value but what does this do for me? After 27 bars and this being my first +1 how do I get the +1 value added on. I "crafted" one with a quality of 148 and it gave me a normal Bronze Bar.

Basically how do you get the improved "ingredient" and how do the materials effect it. For the latter, e.g. I use my Tin Ore +1 to create a bar instead of my regular Tin Ore.

    Thanks in advance!

The higher quality you get during the crafting process, the more of a chance you get to either make more of the product or make a higher quality like you did. I've gotten up to 500 quality without HQing, so it's a pretty small chance. Higher quality materials make the starting durability and quality higher when crafting with them.

Must mean Bronze Ingot. The icon looks a bit like a gold bar, but with a different color.

Your first question was answered, but your second one (bolded) was not.

Using all NQ (normal quality) ingredients, you will start with approximately 100 durability and 0 quality. Using all HQ (high quality) ingredients, you will start with approximately 150 durability and 300 quality. Using a combination of both NQ and HQ ingredients, you'll start with values somewhere between the ones mentioned above.

I just crafted 8 things using all HQ ingredients, pushed the quality over 500, and I only got an HQ result once. Sometimes you'll HQ the result even when your quality is embarassingly low. It's very random, but higher quality generally increases the chances that the result will be HQ.

Don't forget the game still has old materials still in it, so on occasion you might run into +1 or +3 items. This is being resolved though, and +1 will be considered HQ. This actually goes for recipes in the game as well. There are still old and new recipes active in the game. Older ones require many more materials as well as potentially multiple craft classes to pull off. The new recipes are much more streamlined.
