A Few Additional Questions

I am level 10 now, I've heard tell of guildleves. There doesn't seem to be a lancer guild in Limsa Lominsa or I'm blind, where do I go to get these?

Second Question: I'm still using the gear I was given at lvl1, all of the merchants seem to only have the lvl1 weapon as well and nobody is selling it in the Markets. Where do I go to get new gear or can you only find it?

Thirdly, do you only get crafting recipes through levequests?

Hmm, some unclear answers up in here...

1a) You can pick up guildleves in all three cities. You pick them up in the adventurer's guild. The adventurer's guild is labeled on the map. You pick up leves from the NPCs behind the counter (the counter that has glowing blue panels).

1b) The lancer's guild is located in Gridania, but you don't need to go there except to do class quests. There are three class quests currently; one at level 20, 30, and 36.

2) This one was covered, but you can buy additional weapons/armor in the market wards. You can either use the item search and buy directly from players, or you can go the respective wards and purchase from NPCs that stand in the center. Battlecraft Ward has an NPC that will sell you low-level weapons, Lower Tailor's Ward has an NPC that will sell you low-level gear.

3) Crafting leves (also called 'local levequests') will tell you how to make a recipe when you complete them, but you don't need to 'learn' recipes. Assuming you (as a person, not a character) know the ingredients to make something, you can make whatever you want, provided you are high enough level. mooglebox.com is a good source for crafting recipes.
