    A Few Additional Questions

I am level 10 now, I've heard tell of guildleves. There doesn't seem to be a lancer guild in Limsa Lominsa or I'm blind, where do I go to get these?

Second Question: I'm still using the gear I was given at lvl1, all of the merchants seem to only have the lvl1 weapon as well and nobody is selling it in the Markets. Where do I go to get new gear or can you only find it?

Thirdly, do you only get crafting recipes through levequests?

    Thanks!

You can get new weapons and armor from the adventurer's guild in any of the three cities. There should be NPCs inside that sell these things.

The LNCs guild is in Gridania.

Easiest way is to take the airship , elevator is by the chocobo stall in Limsa but it costs 5000gil for a ride and I know when you start you don't have a lot of gil. The only other way to get there from Limsa is to take the ferry to Uldah then follow the road alllll the way east to the end of the map then north to gridania.

Sorry, I just had to point something out about this: Airship costs 100gil * your highest level. Yes, many people have a level 50 character so it costs them 5k BUT for beginners it costs MUCH less. If your highest level is only 5 or 10 then it will only cost 500gil or 1k, something very easily managed after just 2-3 5min leves.

But, as the others have said, I suggest doing quests and leves first too. It certainly couldn't hurt and you learn a little about the game while you're at it.

    Um, not quite. There's a 2500 gil minimum, so if you're level 5 or 10, it'll cost 2500 gil.

There are NPCs inside the Market Wards that sell weapons and armor, also NPCs in the guilds sell armor and weapons more specific to the class, but the Marauder's Giuld should sell armor that you can use as a lancer.

Thats the only way I've seen them gotten, but you can look them up on the internet and use them even if you don't have them in game.

Go to the Drowning Wench, step up to the leve counter, get some battlecraft leves. That's the about the best way to make money at your level. Leve Quests are sometimes called "Guildleves" because they come from the Adventurer's Guild; you don't go to your class's guildhall to get them. You don't have a real need to go to your class guild until level 20 (when you can get a class-specific quest there). Player economy is only really functional in Ul'dah on most servers, but at your level you probably don't have stuff other players would be willing to pay for anyways. You can NPC stuff you don't have a need for. NPC Merchants at the Adv. Guild as well as in the Battlecraft (weapons), Armorfitters and Lower Tailors (both armor) Wards will sell a good deal of what you need, and in Limsa, the Maurader's Guild might have some armor that would suit you.
