PSA: Macro Sound Effects Harm People with Sensory Issues

And the thing will be that people think you're saying it just for yourself. Of course you are, but at the same time, theres a lot of people with that problem. Maybe not as severe as you, but there's probably a lot of people with problems with loud sounds.
Its just that a lot are afraid to say anything for the reason you said. Simply being ignored or having to deal with macros sounds being spammed... Or have to deal with being told "JUST MUTE IT" because everybody just LOVES playingm uted games, right? I personally don't.
They can even be annoying for me when I use it so i do it rarely. If i would spam it for every person i try to res i would go insane myself.

So instead of thinking about screaming "but it only affects you!!!" look at the bigger picture. Theres always more people than you, some people don't even know what triggers headaches suddenly while playing a game. Not everybody knows.

The game should be enjoyable for everybody and an extra checkbox will not kill your family, either.

I already know of some mods that only modify the game models on the client side, so maybe with me asking Reddit or bringing this to Square Enix's attention this can be resolved. But I am feeling entirely defeated tonight after having yet another person disregard the physical pain the macro sound effects give me. People have and will harass me with them, thinking it is funny to troll or tease me, but it is no longer funny, and just makes the game tiresome. It comes to a point where a game is no longer enjoyable because of the selfishness of others.

(I don't think you should be able to spend mana on someone with the rez buff but that's just me)

It was like this in FFXI too, but FFXI actually received an update X years back that made it so that Raise could not be casted on someone who already had a Raise status (the Raise status also didn't decay in that game, although characters still auto-HPed after 1 hour).

This game feels strangely behind the times in that aspect.

But seriously I cannot handle the sound effects... they're so high pitched and awful, but certain sound effects such as the dungeon commence ones are not irritating, and can be necessary if you're in a long queue and looked away for a while. Macro sound effects needs its own toggle box.

I experience similar issues. Not Aspergers but I definitely suffer from periods of sensory overload which make me violently ill. If you ever need downtime, and just want to chat/vent with someone who is sympathetic, please feel free to friend me.

People should be taking breaks regardless. We all love FF and lets face it time flies. We all have common sense and break times should be a must. While some have better tolerance levels than others their are certain options to help. Lower SFX , wear noise cancelling earphones, take actual breaks not oh door, or food, or getting drink. -.-; If people have disabilities it is understandable and should take proper precautions. It's call common sense. People with Sensory issues should really take more than normal to prevent more serious health issues.

More like if your going to be playing online be aware of your limitations. If you know you have sensory issues is more of a reason to be cautions. Yes some jerk will keep spamming it not on purpose, more because he can't avoid it if its part of the actions that are needed. People who blame a product for that just plain stupid. I suffer from constant migraines since I was little and enjoy the game regardless. I know my limitations and rather than complain I find ways to enjoy the game. While I understand common sense is a dying trait at a minimum a person must know that if they have sensory issues they should take more breaks than normal. By own means though if people like to suffer enjoy the annoying sounds and crank it up.
