They did but the skill was ultimately useless unless used at the exact right moment to avoid a tank buster in the event that the tank keeled over.I've heard that way back in 2.x ninja used to have this skill called perfect dodge in place of shade shift which allows them to complete avoid an attack. The animation has them disappearing in a puff of smoke for a moment. Never really got around looking for said skill nor have I actually played during that time so...I could be wrong.
What? It wasn't useless at all. In fact, it was outright broken since it could be used to bypass some mechanics that required tanks to share damage. And SE certainly wouldn't have that. BLM's Manawall suffered the same fate.
