MT/OT assumptions in multi-tank groups

My thoughts on MT/OS(s) would be this...

1. Is one of us a WAR in 50 content? Without DPS stance that person should MT.
2. Is one of us considerably better geared for that content? Assuming the less geared tank is not woefully undergeared the less geared tank should MT to allow the better geared tank to DPS.
3. In Alliance situations if someone has exceedingly weaker healers (see: deaths on their team, OOM healers, etc) that person should not MT.

Assume the other tank is a L50 PLD with good gear. His DPS combo is his emnity combo. If he can hold threat while in sword oath for all/most of the fight, why not have the WAR drop tank stance and OT? Also, PLD gets SS procs

If you MT and drop tank stance, you'll be competing against a possiblity better geared PLD who spams their enmity combo over and over again to dps.

Don't worry about having a DPS stance or not. Drk never has a 'dps stance'. Their offensive mode is NOT using Grit. War lv 50 offense mode is NOT using defiance. You can OT all you want. Tank stance applies a big damage penalty and enmity bonus. Remove that and you are sitting pretty in an offensive stance. Don't let Pld having sword oath dissuade you from doing damage without defiance if that's what you want to do.

As for who should tank, the guy that wants to. If I want to MT that day ill ask my healers if they mind. If they don't then I go pull. Usually I don't care so I just sit back and wait for someone else to pull and OT. If they die im there to step in or grab adds. Theres not some elaborate priority rule system. The only times it can possibly be a problem is when no one wants to tank or everyone wants to tank. If you wanna fight me for agro you can have it. Ill go back to watching Netflix and fell cleaving if you want it that bad.

in 24men, if I queue as tank, I m mt......if I don't want to, I would queue in as whatever role but not as tank....
