It doesn't need a fix, it didn't need one in the first place. At least not in the way they tried to fix it. It was actually kinda fun before, then turned into yet another fate grind.
At this point I'd say, don't "fix" it again, just open it up, so people can actually access the area. Will mostly be interesting for gatherers, but I actually like the idea of being able to enter as lv70.

it doesn't require fixing. it is what it is. Just let people in.

I don't count the submarines or airships as FC content when it takes like a couple months of diligent work by a group of people to finish everything in it. Need more FC only accessible areas like the diadem.

But Diadem isn't FC only content, you can just enter as an undersized party with an FC airship, which is less annoying then waiting for the queue in Ishgard. It doesn't even need to be your FC, so long as there's someone with access to that FC's airship and everyone has their fuel, it's free game. :B

You can still queue via Ishgard. It never went away.
Never has and never will be FC exclusive content.

The problem is that barely anyone queues for it. :B

What SE can do is make Diadem increasing in difficulty every patch

It was nearly death on arrival content. Putting more and more stuff behind that will not change that. Most people just dont want to do it, even when the weapon was still the highest. (Too much RNG to bother) Also having the highest weapon in such an boring and easy content + RNG is just bad. There is still a big amount of minions and and a mount behind it and on top of that some unique mats yet yesterday I gave up after waiting over 90 minutes on it..not a single person joined in that time.

Letting it stay how it is (I mean we have the second version of it and barely anyone likes it) and just opening up for solo play would be better, at least for gathering stuff. And to get the pets and minions they could simply include those with the gathering map too.

But maybe this is what I'll do this weekend. Knock out a couple Diadem achievements for the heck of it.

I would love to be able to go there for the few minions, and for the emergency missions thing(which I never got to take part in because it always seemed to pop when I wasn't home).

It is because of the minions and gathering items that it needs to be opened up. Folks can go gather and when the minion Fates pop switch to combat and group up for the Fate.
