There are still a fair amount of people doing relics, especially now since it's good busywork during downtime and imo the obnoxious number of dungeons and stuff you need to run for them *can* help people play their class better. I was much quicker with cards on ast after getting my anima lux for it just for fun.

Poe is good for grinding desynthesis and I've been using verity to stock up on desynthesis fodder to burn through once the desynthesis cap is raised.

You're better off doing anything but poetics for desynth. It's a lot faster to earn the 30k in gil per piece of a vended equipment than the 250 or more poetics for a similar piece. I don't know about the cap; keep in mind this assumes that the items will resolve into worthwhile things. A lot of old gear at 60s gave you ampithetre leather.

For relic...most people will quit at trying to get into snowcloak. If they persist, the light step will kill them; many of the best ways to get it no longer pop frequently if at all. I don't think it will be a draw for many people. SE will have to start to do something about teh lack of incentives for old content; I spend 16 min some days just trying to get intro trials as a rdm.

There comes a point where you have to use poetics to purchase gear for desynth. Because eventually vendor or dungeon gear won’t give you as much of an increase anymore as tomestone gear. It’s not like poetics are used much for jobs unless you are leveling them. If you aren’t leveling them, then they have no use. Plus, like I said before, poetics are not that hard to come by.

If the person is a level 70 doing a Zodiac weapon or Anima weapon, they can unsync all the dungeons; waiting in queues isn’t necessary. This also works for the light steps as well. May be a bit more time consuming to unsync the level 60 dungeons for Anima relics as opposed to doing A1S or A9S light farming groups, but still doable solo or with a friend/couple of people. No queues necessary.

Not if you're trying to cap it (the current cap is ilvl 330 ) for a craft that doesn't have weapons and you don't want to spend yo' gils. Capping weaver took a lot of poe, centurio seals, crafter scrips, 24-man drops, and dungeon gear and you get more poe for doing the last 2. It's a grind but I still prefer it as a way to get glass fibers and some other random mats.

Most people I know that started finished, new players still do the anima for the minion. It's not nearly as much of a grind as it used to be. Most of the 50 dungeons can be solo'd. You can't do Wanderer's Palace hard solo if you're playing as a job that can't use any healing spells, but the rest are fine. Light farming went twice as fast for my AST weapon than it did for my SMN weapon back when that was current and my parties never hit the sturdy window. I think I started and completed a weapon in a week playing pretty casually by doing roulettes every day, finishing WT, and checking the pf for bonus parties.

If the game isn't fun for you it's probably time to take a break.

Well I learned most of you don't read. No mention of don't watch dung cs or Shiva type cs as they are 1min. Just pf of which I join 50-60 a week, mostly as a bonus whore but lots of time if they easy quick i'll hop in to get that person a complete. Go do alex 1-12. Go see the difference in time w/ w/o cs. But you don't join and help i bet. You say tomes are for my time. I have enough crap to do 3 more relic weapons yet I keep joining. I say I am getting you past content so don't screw me over. You say I should know they are going to watch cs like every1 watches them. I didn't and a lot don't. This is old content that we would struggle to beat most likely synched. i bet it was great. I started in SB so idk. The cs were designed to build drama to a difficult fight where you feel proud after victory. So proud of that 2min fight. Watch your cs. Cry about guys like me who may offend you for wasting my time. You skip im there 1-12. Watch you will be in and out of pf replacing ppl 7 times.

It's almost as if what you're complaining about in entirely avoidable.

Unlike with DF runs, you have the option to ask your PF members if they are planning to watch CSs prior to entering the instance. If so, simply don't join. Why spend effort implementing something that is easily solved with basic communication?

Oh, no, I read what you wrote. And I find your arrogance absolutely baffling. I don't think you read what YOU wrote.

Considering you can do all of Coil (except T9) with only one other person, and Alexander with maybe 2-3 other people (may need more for A12N, but that's the only one), you definitely aren't needed to "help people get past content."

Jeez, stop trying to play the nice guy in this situation. Say it how it is: You don't care about helping someone to clear content at all, you just want some quick tomes. If you'd really want to help someone out and be happy for them that they finally cleared some content that they've never seen before, you wouldn't be this aggressive about the whole situation.

Other than that, since you're able to type in the forum I assume you're able to use the ig-chat-function aswell. So start using it. Ask if the person you're wanting to "help out" wants to watch the cutscenes or not. If so, then leave, no one is gonna force you to run with that group anyway. But I guess that's too simple for some people...

Actually a lot of us do. Like me many folks raced to catch up to current content and skipped the older stuff that wasn't forced as part of the MSQ. After reaching level we then went back during our free time to fill in the rest of the story. This includes watching the cut scenes where much of the story takes place. Based on your comments you seem to be running the older level content for the wrong reasons. It is not to help the newer folks but to stroke your own ego. My suggestion is you just stop running in any groups other than your own where you can clearly spell out no cut scene waits. It would definitely be better for everyone involved including yourself.
