    Sounds when fishing?

So not sure if this will be the right section. But couldn't find a better section since this is directly related to fishing.

I just came back to the game and used to do quite a bit of fishing. Switched to a male AuRa and wow it is so noisy when fishing. Is there any other gender/race which constantly pulls on the fishing rod which makes enough noise to actually cover up the "something bites" sound? Or is it just the male AuRa?

And is there any way to get them to stop doing it or to remove that sound so I can go back to just hearing the "something bites" sound?

You sure it's a racial thing, and not that you're using a lure or other type of bait that the character keeps moving?

the bite sound depends on the fish that bites, there are 3 types in general and they have different variations

It is possible that you were fishing at a spot where only fish were with the hard tug animation and not so many or rather rarely the medium/light tug animation which is pretty silent.
Big Fish got their own sound too, it is very noticeable, makes it useful if buffs are running to distinguish between them so you don't waste so much time in the "gathering animation".

Hmm, even with my female Midlander, small tugs can go unnoticed if only going by audio alone. In noisy places that have falling water, or a lot of wildlife noises I tend to use the light on my rod to also aid with a visual cue. If you're using a controller with vibration, this will help a ton too.

It just doesn't seem likely that a certain race would be at a disadvantage to others when it comes to fishing. Give those tips a try if not already using them.

the noisy sounds and constatly pulling on the rod are from the artifical baits. when you are fly fishing you pull on the rod etc so the artifical fly starts moving in the water and gets the attention of the fish.

so it depends on the bait wich animation you get, not the race.

But then again those horns have a LOT more surface area than any other race's ears.
