But seriously no. It beats waiting for crazy queue times.

you can solo POTD (at least up to 100), you can do all of the pomanders, treasures yourself. You don't need to jump into a mindless party on speed unless you're only there for exp.
sadly, the exp for fates (and sidequests) is pathetic these days. That's why people aren't doing them.
It doesn't need to be removed (in fact, it's probably the best additional content I've seen, and it's longevity speaks to that)
If you don't like POTD, don't do it. Problem solved.

Why not start a Linkshell for fate hoping? Rather than remove content for others, why not find like minded individuals who would love to do the fates with you? I bet people exist like that.

We’re all advocating for the type of game we want to see. Mine just happens to clash with yours. I like a story driven game, where people can come together as a community, and defeat challenges based on a PVE format. I want to work together. [snip] You’re not gonna like what I say, but I’m gonna say it regardless because I want Square Enix to hear the other side.

I used to enjoy a bit of FATE grinding in HS when I started... In SB, however, it's a joke. Only worth it ro do

The challenge log stuff. (Gah, mobile not having edit)
Palace of the Dead is a nice challenge so that people can get a preview of the job and level up in the process if low level. It also offers decent weapons as a reward and even a challenge to master their job if they want to challenge it solo. Over all it is a pretty decent dungeon for those who like to solo, don't want o wait for queue do to their short temper, or just want a nice challenge. While it may not give as much xp as constant fates, which I really hate myself, it has a nice penalty. If you fail you don't get XP from boss. Not sure why people want to nerf it, it is not that hard to begin with. Once you reach 100+ it gets interesting. Now if people are complaining to starting points over 100 I can understand the frustration if they get DC.
See, I think most people are looking at the first part of my original point in removing PotD, but honestly, the thing I would like to see is for SE to implement something in the game to bring life back to the older areas. Before PotD, ALL the areas were bustling with people. Now, with PotD, .....tumbleweeds. I do think PotD has its uses, but I personally would rather see something done to make overworld levelling done in older areas. I don't know about you guys, but I honestly would rather level in the beauty of the worlds we have rather than circle through PotD.
And yes, I appologize for maybe miswording - an ALTERNATIVE to PotD and FATES to incorporate levelling in older non-used areas. I think this would also mix sprouts with experianced players in the same area. It was nice waiting on a FATE and helping newbies at the same time.
Maybe, if something like a levelling instance is created in one of the older areas. You create a party of 4 and you move from literally one end of the map to the other killing monsters and meeting some objectives....picking up chests along the way, then at the end you have a mini boss. This way, you fill up older areas. I dunno.....Like I said, it's just kinda sad seeing empty locations - Neph, I know you say they aren't EMPTY, but I'm talking about breathing some life back into these areas....not having a couple peeps and their chocobos just hitting the odd FATE. And on my server, (Sarg) pretty much anything older than Stormsblood is a ghost-town.....well, the Shire still has a few stragglers, but stilll....Anyone else have any ideas?
Well there is a reason why it's called old content. No point in having larger difficulty in old content were players may accidentally go into it. Not sure if you ever played v1 , the outskirts had lvl 80+ mobs were players could access at level 1 lol. yeah was not fun. Now if you think about it unless they decide to do something along the lines of perhaps building an ultimate type of relic using old relic weapons older content areas don't seem that interesting. Maybe with their expansion of relic gear future plans old areas might be needed and such. We can only recommend and give them ideas. Maybe pull a FFXI Dynamis in older areas? Before the fall would be a nice challenge. Or wing of the Goddess where we can travel back to experience v1 for those whoa re interested. The Content was hard and fun in my opinion.
