NA Feedback:Add East Coast Server.

After doing my research & checking census Final Fantasy XIV did double is active sub in NA especially with success of Stormblood. New Players keep continue coming to this game.

For further growth of this game SE please, when dealing with your current ISP for next contract in NA can you consider to add east coast server so we can even out with west coast in terms of performance on this game.I know it looks like greedy request & gonna get criticized but logically is next step for health & continuity growth of this game esp for NA.North America ain't small like Japan or Europe in terms of landscape it might need a little more help but it worth it in terms $$$.There no way this year for sure but late 2018 or before new expansion will be a good opportunity to do it IF you do it.

Which servers get moved to east coast? How will housing/FC's/linkshells be dealt with? Will you get to choose if your server moves?

Would you give everything up to transfer if the servers you weren't on moved?

From what I can tell, the server design relies heavily on data centers, rather than individual servers. An East coast server that's tied into the NA data center wouldn't get you anything as soon as you enter something like a roulette, because you'd be paired up with people on the West coast data center, necessitating that one of them be the one running that particular instance (or having both data centers be in constant contact and relaying everything).

You'd need an entirely new data center, which would be disconnected from the existing NA data center and thus wouldn't have the playerbase to really work that well.

Well in fairness, NA has 2 datacentres. Aether and Primal. So one could be east coast, the other west coast. It's not EU which only has one datacentre (Chaos). So I wouldn't say you'd need a new datacentre for that. Now, if we were to get an eastern european server for example, that'd require a new datacentre since there's only 1 EU datacentre.

I'm not thrilled with needing a VPN to play ever since the servers moved, and an east coast server would certainly benefit me personally, but it's just not going to happen. It's simply too expensive to operate the game out of a 4th location given that it would not bring in enough new subs to justify the expense. MMOs are all about wringing out profits and minimizing expenses. It would've been nice if they could've just picked a central NA location in the first place.

It SE will decide for server i feel it going be Primal if not then time to create alt on Aether.for housing will be same anyway they gonna add something in 4.2 for everyone get fair chance im guessing they gonna add house seller thing so if you transfer there chance a house might be selling.But they need to check housing system first it hella broken with alts & stuffs. FC/LS i know alot raiders who move to gilgamesh back in gordias days to clear content for performance they do the same it player who decide where to go.

The na data centers used to be east coast(ish) and for many years the west coast players had to put up with what we on the east coast have to deal with now. Splitting up the na servers to east and west coast would be a horrible idea. If they were to make any move at all (which I doubt) the smart move would be to move the servers to somewhere in the middle.

I'm on Primal and I live on the east coast and I'd rather they stayed where they are than split into two. I have many friends that I would lose if an east coast west coast split happened. I think the majority of people would rather keep their friends/fcs/statics/ than have a slightly lower ping.

Also, OP you are not the NA spokesperson, stop making threads every month because you want the data center back in your hometown.

Hey, i also want the center back to where it used to be. My ping, while bearable, is worse than it was and has a noticeable affect in game. I'm not against splitting the servers. Those that want to deal with higher ping like the previous center still have the choice too and vice versa. The issue is some on the east coast have such vastly worse ping where connecting to EU servers is better, and thats not right. While a center location wouldve been ideal, they choose not too. so why not split the two. That's just my two cents. Carry on.

Again, we on the east coast are now playing with what the west coast had to deal with all along until the server move. A central location would be way better than splitting up the data centers. The server move affected me too as I live on the east coast. In fact you can't get any more east coast than my state. I still don't want to give up my friends/fc/ls.
