To be fair, no other primal has given us quite such an offering. . . Were she less attractive, it wouldn't be as tempting to not use Vril, lol.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Sophia of the Warring Triad have a mostly human body as well? My memory of the lore surrounding her is a little shaky being a year old, but I don't think her worshippers were human.
You see supposedly 3 of them, her Demiurges, in the fight. They all seem to hail from humanoid races we're familiar with. What I'm curious about is her head-only daughter.

Fun fact: the head is officially called Barbelo
Given how Barbelo is 'born' into the fight (scales), she's probably the true form of Sophia's Equilibrium or something.
Its kinda sad that most of the female primals look like a beautiful human with some bits of their followers and yet the male primals mostly look much more inhuman. I smell a pretty big bias there. And its not like some scales and showing the tail would have made her ugly as heck but imo more believable as the goddess of a snake beast tribe.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

That's only true to Lakshmi, but for a good reason. Its kinda sad that most of the female primals look like a beautiful human with some bits of their followers and yet the male primals mostly look much more inhuman. Garuda looks humanoid but I wouldn't say she is beautiful, more like creepy tbh. Plus the real Garuda is a human being.
Meanwhile Sophia is what she is because she's a homage to the FFVI version.
And then Shiva is an Elezen so she's supposed to be human-like.
The problem is that we know that primals change their look depending on the summoners. So why should the current Ixals, who never really knew the old Garuda, summon her as that and not as an overgrown Ixal woman? Yet Titan and other male primals (Ramuh is the only one looking more human) are way more beastly. That's only true to Lakshmi, but for a good reason.

Again out of the triad Sophia, the only female, is also the only one that is really human looking. I know that they did it as a homage yet it would still be nice to be more consistent with the primals and not always make the females the good looking ones and the males beastly.
In the end this is just for fanservice or as an homage and I find this a bit sad..why not change it a bit and make a good looking male primal and a really beastly lady? Or make them both look more like primals from their race. I mean Shiva is fine since she is the imagination of Ysayle and the old Shiva was a human. But I just cant believe that the Ananta or the Ixal would summon something so human looking. And look at Lakshimi from the waist up, she truly looks like a real human. While the faces of the Ananta dont look that human. So why would they summon their goddess in such a way?
