I’m leaning towards agreeing with Neri—the Hunting Log was primarily a class thing, and the development team has stated multiple times that they are trying to move away from the class system in FFXIV (notice how none of the new jobs adding HW or SB have had starting classes). So it makes sense for them to not add on to the Hunting Log. I personally also find it redundant to have daily hunts plus Hunting Logs at level 50+. The GC ranks seem to be moving towards focus on Squadrons, not on fulfilling GC Hunting Log requirements.
