Hey all!
So I've been quite loyal to XIV for sometime, and I've seen the idea of having "set" bonuses like in XI and I think its a wonderful idea. It also goes to another point I'd like to make, and I hope many of you agree.
I really want set bonuses with the incoming artifact armor we're going to be getting soon (or job-specific, w/e they wanna call it). I believe that some gear, while may not being 100% better than what you can get in another that's not a part of a set, should become valuable at some point through the inclusion of a set bonus. This should go and be applied to previous sets of gear, as well.
To name a few...
Sipahi (Not sure wth anyone would want most of this gear for unless they fix the stats, but I like to think it's PUG related and evasion related.)
Sorcerers
Templar's (could use some overall updates to stats, and maybe set bonus could grant auto-cover to anyone behind the target... or something idk)
Harlequins
Buccaneers. (Updates to stats to reflect the ranged attacker in the game, and set bonus could give a Snapshot effect like XI - where you don't always consume an arrow or ranged attack (chakram,thowing spear, etc)
In doing so, the demand for these items would go up, and you would see past content revisited. And a "Set" does not have to apply to having a full head, body, hands, legs, and feet. It could be something like the Helm of the Lone Knight and Hands giving a set bonus. What I would like the most with these bonuses is them being somewhat unique, and something you probably can't slot with materia. But SE is going down a quickly approaching negative spiral by outdating gear so quickly, and I think this type of solution would be best to fix it.
--So... *Here's an example for what I think (and hope) Job Specific Armor will look like (I'll do PUG since its my favorite)
-Head Piece: INT+10, Enhanced Second Wind Effect. (This meaning something like... Reduce recast by 10 seconds)
-Body Piece: STR+8,DEX+8. Evasion +10. "Auto-Refresh Effect" (This meaning 1mp a tick)
-Arm Piece: Attack+10, Accuracy +10, Critical Hit Damage+10, Crit Rate+10
-Leg Piece: DEX+6, INT+6. Evasion +15. Augment "Featherfoot". (This doing something like... granting 2 "evades" on a duration instead of one. Let me evasion tank, plzkthx.)
-Foot Piece: STR+2, DEX+2, INT+2. Kick Attack Damage +35.
SET BONUS: Increase Attack Speed

I've got other ideas for the game, but I'd like to not say it all at once. I think SE needs to work a little bit more on gear uniqueness in the game, because at the moment we really do not have it.
**An idea for reviving old NMs for content. Make their drops be used in other synths... ^^
