    DX11 not detecting GFX card

This happened after the recent update. I've tried both DX9c and DX11. DX9 is able to detect and use my GTX 750 Ti but when I switch to DX11, it uses the integrated graphics from Intel. This caused my game to slow down by tons. Anyone having this issue too?

Hi Ya! Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV!

I am so sorry you are experiencing this issue. I understand this can be frustrating.

The crashing of Direct X may be caused by a variety of issue. We would suggest lowering the graphic settings in game, as the intense graphics in dungeons can cause the crashing. You can also contact appropriate graphic driver website

It sounds like your system is auto detecting whether or not to use the NVIDIA GPU and in this case it's only recognising the standard DX9 version (ffxiv.exe and not ffxiv_dx11.exe) as a game hence that gets to the use NVIDIA card, but the DX11 version isn't recognised as a game so it just gives it the default Intel card. First of all it's probably just worth updating your NVIDIA drivers as newer drivers might fix the autodetect/update it.

Failing that though, to fix this normally you just load up the NVIDIA Control Panel and then near the top left select "Manage 3D settings". Assuming ffxiv_dx11.exe isn't already in the list you then want to add it and look for "preferred graphics processor" or something like that so you can force the NVIDIA instead of letting it autodetect. You may also need to do the same for ffxivboot.exe although I wouldn't think so.

Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

In addition to our previous post, I might require a bit more information about your PC. First, is this a laptop PC? The information you provided suggests this, but I want to make sure. If so, what is the model/brand? Any information about it will help us figure out a solution. Additionally, please send a complete DXDIAG, the one you sent is helpful, but a complete DXDIAG will help us find the cause. to create a complete DXDIAG, press Windows key + R and type 'DXDIAG' in the Run command window. When the DXDIAG window pops up, select "Save all information" and post it here.

Hopefully, we can find a solution with this additional information.

He is able to run DX11 to the poster a couple posts up.

You need to go into your power settings and set them to maximum performance.. This may allow the laptop to run the 750ti while gaming. Your laptop could be running the intel IGP because you're not plugged up as it will drain your battery pretty quick.

What brand / model is your laptop?
