    Multi-hit attacks

    A.K.A. NIN's Dream within a Dream attack ability that does a threefold attack with 150 potency for each hit... the technology is there for other ability AND weaponskills and yes I know that casters spell potencies would need to be buffed for this to work and same with enemy HP values, but at least some weaponskills that are part of combochain on tanks would be considered a DPS gain(PLD's Rage of Halone looks like it could do 5 hits of 270 potency but only does 1 hit...)Just leave sound ques alone so that people know that they did the combo right(unless deaf then maybe make visual ques that show you did the combo right) although not an expert on server limitations so not sure if those would put a huge strain on the servers...

    Since each of these hit exactly as many times as they appeared to in 1.x, I'm guessing they just figured it wasn't worth calculating the crits separately, or might eventually favor crit-dependent classes (imagine if Bard Repertoire generated from all crits, rather than just periodic tick crits), and decided then and there to change them all for simplicity's sake, rather than create a reason for a multi-strike and single-strike ability of the same total damage to have some inherent difference.

    Yep, in 1.0 Rage of Halone hit 5 times. I missed little things like that.

    I got into FF14 during Heavesward when Final Steps of Faith was still kinda new... would you like the multi-hits to come back or would that require the devs to get a better netcode for that...? I would like to see how well it would work current and future content...

    Multi-hit attacks can add a layer to a rather simple combat system. I'm all for it.

    A fireball barrage for Black Mages to use for Firestarter instead of F3 or someodd. Pew pew.

    Multi-hits can add something, but only if allowed to, at which point their effects tend not to feel any more a result of multiple hits than simply appended effects (e.g. a Fireball barrage reading "has 5 chances to trigger Firestarter").

    It would take some fairly deep undermechanics for multi-hit attack to function uniquely from embedded effects. Though, of course, I'm all for that (provided the netcode can handle it).
