Lootmaster:Should it be abolished

It's useful for many people for many ways. Some people abuse it. Some people don't. Getting rid of it because you or your friend made the conscious decision to join knowing the risks and got screwed over anyways is just petty and a bit childish.

LM's existence doesn't resonate with most people because they don't use statics with noticeably efficient infrastructure. LM is used alongside DKP systems and the like. Not very popular, but still a system that isn't exactly impossible to come across.

It also exists for occasions where trust can be an issue (obviously it can be used to scam as well). This one is more familiar with people. In a trustful party, it's often better odds that something will go without mistake when it comes to loot than it is to rely on all players hitting that pass and not making a mistake on rolling, which is severely detrimental if all members hit their roll/pass before a mistake can be fixed.

Honestly it's not the lootmaster that's the issue, it's the "first come first serve" thing they do. I just don't get by what right I should be prioritised for a very rare drop, just because I happened to see and join a party maybe a second before someone else?

Lootmaster has its purpose in statics - groups of people who learn to trust each other.

Just don't join a LM party with a stranger.

I like lootmaster for "call your loot" parties. It's nice to gear up a new job without dragging the group down.

Not sure what to think of this thread;

Either people have no idea what the purpose of loot master is or the fact that people lack common sense and join parties that are set as loot master without understanding and now want to abolish the idea because they keep getting screwed.

IF people are aware of loot master and are being screwed it would be best to avoid parties like these unless you trust people. If people keep going into them and keep getting screwed....then well ...they may need help with common sense or better of creating their own group. >.> Loot-master is a tool, how players use it is up to them.

i've used lootmaster with friends before because some people can be very selfish and take what they said they wouldn't when you need the gear but cannot run on that class because the ilvl is too low but it meets level requirements, but instead they roll on it anyway and say well you should have played on that instead! really irritating.

So from what I’m reading it seemed like Lootmaster would be much more effective if it was limited to the high end duty finder raids that way people can’t use it to screw others out of mounts?

Some poeple like them, so no reason to remove them. I don't care for them so i simply don't join.

Lootmaster parties are built because the leader doesn’t trust you. So naturally you shouldn’t trust them when joining it!

Jokes aside, I use lootmaster for actual drops, like weapons in a primal farm so that people don’t lot on something they didn’t list or “accidentally” need something someone else is after, mounts go greed only.

But the stigma built by the lootmaster mount farm scams has actually caused people to leave my groups for no reason as soon as they see it’s lootmaster (usually right as we queue because people can’t read the party finder).
