I just always felt that Limsa has all this water in it and you can't swim in any of it. I remember being disappointed about that when I was a new player.
It's not that I don't agree or dislike the idea. It's just that there's nothing there to draw attention to it. Even Costa del Sol is a ghost town aside from Leves or MSQ/Class quests. If they'd add something to draw a crowd there it'd be useful and warranted. It reminds me of the Ruby Sea. All that wasted space. It's pretty but I can only hope they plan to really make it useful.

It's really a shame issues like this exist because many areas, city and abroad alike, are absolutely beautiful.

At most you'd just see people afk in the water just because they can.

I mean how often do you see people swimming in Costa del Sol when there's not an event going on?
Somewhat related, I wish they had some sort of dailies in Costa del Sol, because the layout with these small islands and the possibility of swimming there is gorgeous... I loved the past event because of it.

Well, the thing is... there's not much to do underwater other than traveling (at first) and gathering/spearfishing. We don't have any battle content in there. I don't think if I remember this right, but didn't Yoshi-P say that they only added it just to "have it"? as they weren't planning on expanding this feature anymore... or at least, not drastically. Swimming is like flying, in terms of mechanics. We still didn't get any flying combat or anything related to keep us busy.

I would not be opposed. It's a great feature for role-players and those who just want somewhere interesting to idle in between doing other things. With that said, though, I'd like to see such an area used for a quest or gathering node to liven things up further.

Where in lower decks? They are either fisherman's guild or cargo docks. Limsa is a port city, these things have rules so the pirates don't drown each other or know when someone fell overboard. Rhalgr's Reach was a temple, with waterfall, nothing that exciting ever happened.

Would swimming really fit the area though? You've got boat traffic and fishing down there, I don't think people are going to want to be swimming through all that.

I make it a point to make periodic forays to swim in Mist. It's something I wanted so badly since I have a house in Mist right on the beach and I so happy I get to enjoy it now. It may not serve any in game purpose, but swimming makes the world feel more real to me and that makes me happy.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

Generally swimming is prohibited in/near harbors. It would be nice to have area in the capitals where we could swim, but the harbor would end poorly.

Not to mention what's usually in port water, especially given the technological time period the game seems to borrow from. Bilge water for dayyyyyyys.

That said I'm on Balmung so I see a fair number of people swimming for role play purposes, and no, not the erp variety. It'd be a cool feature but overall it wouldn't kill me if they never even considered adding it. Really, what I want is more stuff to /do/ in the areas we currently have swimming available.

Rather than another swimming area I' like to see SE add float tubes or floatable giant pink flamingo's we could lounge on.
