    Confused about game events

New to game, and I have probably missed a few game events, cause I just dont get how to get started in them.

I blindly fumbled into the Golden Saucer event like a few months ago.

So I know a new one started today, and was reading thru the web page for it. Am I wrong in thinking this is more for higher level players?

It was referencing a tab on my duty area, that is greyed out for me currently. So not really sure how to get started.

Is there a good place to go look and see more in detail of these events and how to participate?

    Thanks

Almost all events can be done by someone who is at the level 15 quests, which most people get to in the first day. In rare cases, events require you to be at the level 50 quests, which can take days or weeks but is still nowhere near the max level quests at level 80.

The events are announced on the lodestone and you also see it on the launcher when logging into the game. The announcements link to a dedicated website for that event that gives clear information on how to get started, the requirements and the rewards.

You're not wrong. While most events are fairly low level and designed to be done by everyone, the moogle tome events like this are aimed more towards veteran players who may be getting bored waiting for a major patch or expansion.

Unlike the other seasonal events the moogle one doesn't have a quest related to it. There's nothing specific you need to do to start it. You just do one of the things that rewards tomes, and that's it. This time around most of that content is higher level but there are still a number of level 50 dungeons that reward tomes, and PvP is level 30.

While a lot of tomestone stuff for the event is higher level, if it's like the last one, then the most efficient is still running the level 50 MSQ roulette.

Thanks all for the answers. So I wasn't missing it, this one was for higher. Though I can do some of the pvp stuff, and not far from the 50 lvl stuff, since I just made 40. Thanks again

Well technically 2 events started today. Your questions seem related to the Hunt for Mogtomes event. This is a type of event they run with some regularity. They pick a set of duties and those duties will award a special currency for the duration of the event. The list of duties picked this time is mostly stuff that is required to advance the story and duties required to get through a few pieces of side content. So the idea seems to be they want veterans helping clear these duties as frequently as possible so that newer players dont get stuck. But the event has very few restrictions(basically, a few of the rewards are only available if you have done certain things and you cant use the unsync feature to earn currency) and newer players ALSO get the same currency for completing these duties to progress. You yourself noticed that the PvP instances can be done as early as level 30, and a few of the big instances are at 50 and thus dont require too much progress. To get your rewards from the event talk to the Itinerant Moogle in any of the 3 starting cities, and he'll show you a list of what you can purchase and for how many Mogtomes. The Inferno Jacket at the top of the list is a glamour item exclusive to this event, so if you want it dont miss out. Everything else on the list can be earned in game some other way, but if you have tomes and like something this will be the easiest way to earn many of them.

As for the other event that just started, a few years ago they did a crossover event with Dragon Quest. This event is much smaller in scope, and you can start and finish it within an hour. The rewards are a few pieces of glamour gear and a minion. This event though can be started as low as level 9, and so is not at all restricted to higher level players. The quest starts in Ul Dah near the adventurers guild if you are interested.
