As much as I am a fan of everything Ivalice. I think the races ought to remain in that world.

Then again, the ones we have now are wholesale copies of the FFXI races with some modifications so it's not like there isn't prescient for it.

I really hope the next FF MMO is set in Ivalice though. For as much as Tanaka risked alieanating people with the radical direction he took this game, he sure played it safe with the races.

I've long thought that players who saw the FFXI races in FFXIV were expecting a polished up version of the former. Once they realized it was neither polished, nor did it keep anything people liked about FFXI, all hell broke lose.

If FFXIV had it's own races, expectations might have been far different and the push to turn FFXIV into FFXI+3 might never have happened.

Of course, it didn't help that at the same time FFXI shot itself in the foot with Abyssea

They don't have to be bangaas they could be something else, you know ffxiv twist, as I said, most races look like humans with a few modifications. Sooo, I really wouldn't focus to much on the bangaas but the "lizardy" part of em
